Sanity Checks needs to be OFF entirely. If you're a long range flier and you lost the control link out in say the mountains, failing sanity checks means it will drop your quad far out there if one of the many conditions are not met. If you've seen a "flyaway", it is the quad basically flying off in the wrong direction VERY SLOWLY on it's own in gps rescue mode, it doesn't just shoot off wildly. you have more than ample time to adjust your radio positioning to manually fly the quad back.

26:25 why you think the wind influent to ground speed? Its total misunderstanding. If you set ground speed to 10m/s, but air will flow with 15m/s and slow down the drone, drone will try to fly 10m/s ground speed, with will be 25 m/s air speed. You don't understand difference between ground speed and airspeed. You set groundspeed whatever you want, but it can be achievable with too small max pitch angle.
@andrewmedia3568
@andrewmedia3568 3 күн бұрын
I understand what your saying. What I was trying to say is that you need your quad to be able to pitch over and fly fast enough that it comes back at a reasonable pace. I guess the angle limit is most important to allow the quad to pitch over more if needed to achieve the return speed set.
@backenfutter0079
@backenfutter0079 3 күн бұрын
Also the initial climb is not the absolute height. If inital is set to 5m and the highest flightpoint on that lipo is, lets say 32m. The gps rescue height will be 32m +5m, so 37m. If you put it on 50m like you do, the quad will come back at 83m height. For fixed heights you have to take the number under initial climb. Enough critic :D nice tutorial anyway (=

Great video i gave a quick question when i set arm without fix has long has i plug my quod in with my usb power bank 5v and get gps lock first will it still work ? gps i mean ?. Has betaflight says it will fall out of the sky if its set to on ?
@andrewmedia3568
@andrewmedia3568 3 күн бұрын
Arm without fix just means it will let you arm and fly without the minimum number of sats but GPS wont work. As long as you get the minimum number of sats locked before you arm and takeoff, GPS rescue will work. If you set arm without fix to off, the quad wont arm until you have enough sats. Its kinda like a safety feature but sometimes you want to fly and don't care about GPS rescue, so setting allow arm without fix allows you to do that.
@Gowieee
@Gowieee 4 күн бұрын
You don’t need to the whole power the gps from the FC thing. All you need to do is leave your goggles off when obtaining sats (cold start). Even with the VTX on you will get 10+ sats with 20 seconds. After that you can leave your goggles on between battery swaps.

Best video on how to setup gps and test it. I just didn’t understood why do you need to setup a failsafe and a gps rescue switch on the controller, can you put only failsafe or only gps rescue?Thanks
@andrewmedia3568
@andrewmedia3568 4 күн бұрын
Yes you can put just GPS Rescue on a switch. The reason I put both Failsafe and GPS rescue on a switch was to demonstrate the different ways to test GPS Rescue. you can test it using GPS on a switch, Failsafe on a switch and also a radio shut down if you want. Once everything is working after you tested it. You would just have GPS Rescue on a switch and you would remove the failsafe switch.

I put my gps on top. Build a gopro holder that is tilted the way you want with a gps holder on it. Set at an angle or flat. The go pro light back with very small gps works. In you don’t use a GoPro put your gps there. Than you don’t need to work about it getting interference you don’t realize the space exist with how small gps is now.

i noticed you have metal nuts on top of your stack. I also use metal ones but i have started using spacers to get that metal nut away from the 5v and Ground pads (led pads). I use speedybee and would always blow my 5v and then have to use a buck converter to get 5v back but after doing this I have not blown a 5v. It normally will happen if you have a hard crash and the stack moves and causes a short for just enough time to blow it. Is this a problem that you have ever had or seen before?

How do i connect a walksnail VTX on a speedybee F405 V3 FC UART1 peripherals Tab what vtx code do I select on beta flight ? If you could answer please and thank you
@InfluxFPV
@InfluxFPV 5 күн бұрын
you need to select to uart in use and select msp display port in the ports tab then go to presets and select the dji osd preset, reboot, now you should have osd, no need to mess with vtx tab
@andrewmedia3568
@andrewmedia3568 4 күн бұрын
On the ports tab, turn on MSP for whatever UART your VTX is connected to. Then on the right side of that tab under peripherals click the drop down and select VTX MSP+Displayport. then go to the CLI and Make sure its set to osd_display_device = MSP. ALSO! this depends on what version of betaflight your using.....

You said you set the parameter «Return Ground speed» to 21 m/s in case there was a strong headwind blowing. I don’t think it works that way. The quad has no way of measuring airspeed, but uses the GPS to Measure its speed over the Ground. So If it encounters a headwind of 10 m/s and the recovery speed was set at 11 m/s, it would - If your theory was right - only fly towards you at 1 m/s. However, what would actually happen is that the GPS would register that it was just moving 1 m/s over the ground and would increase the airspeed until the GPS registered moving 10 m/s over the ground which is what you had set in this example. That is why they have called the parameter «ground speed» instendig of «airspeed». What is more critical is to set the «maximum pitch Angle» to High enough Angle to obtain the neccessary airspeed. 50 degrees like you have set, seems like a good choice. Similarly you should set a «Throttle maximum» high to enable it to reach the neccessary airspeed. 1700 like you set, seems like a good choice too.
@andrewmedia3568
@andrewmedia3568 5 күн бұрын
I see what you’re saying. 🤔, that’s what I met, was your speed needs to be fast enough to fly back if it’s windy. you need both angle and speed though. The drone can only produce so much thrust, but you have a better chance of your speed/angle are higher rather than lower.
