I wonder if these could grow in Pennsylvania. I am south of Pittsburgh, so we get bout 20 inches of snow per year, and some below zero days. Anyways, your garden is perfect.

I stumbled back into this video somehow- did any of the plums ripen yet? if so how where they!
@reecalloway909013 күн бұрын
Yes. I love these videos. However; maybe putting them back in the fridge for about 4 weeks would have yielded more germinated seeds. I love attempting to grow things. It’s the best feeling ever.

Is there an ideal fridge temperature that will aid in the germination process?

Those are giant swallowtails that need citrus plants to survive. They’re not gonna kill either you nor your plant. You should consider yourself lucky to have such beautiful creatures in your yard.

Rob have you considered tying your scaffolding branches down to almost horizontal. This is supposed to make the tree fruit more. You might have to shorten some of your branches due to limited room in your garden. This guy explains it best. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ms9lhpyo1c3Wmpc.html

Planted my seed about 8 months ago and it’s an impressive 53cm tall sapling (I’m putting that down to talking to it every day with encouraging compliments and carefully wiping each leaf as I do🥰🤷🏻♂️)just got to wait several years to taste the fruits of my labour 🤞🏼

For me it was the opposite. The one's from water died and the one from soil is going strong (11 months) but he demands a lot of water. Didn't prune, maybe I should? I can't put it outside because it's not strong enough. He is tall (100cm) an skinny with not branching

Hi, Thanks for the video. We used to have mangoes growing in the garden in Swaziland and I never knew that there was a seed inside the nut. There were so many lovely sweet ripe mangoes that we just had to give them away. I used a large pair of wire cutters to snip around the edge of the nut then a large screwdriver which I twisted to open the shell. It worked well and much less danger of injury either to your hand or to the nut inside.

I done some black walnuts and just kept them in moist soil over the winter. Never cracked them. They busted themselves. Thanks for the video. We've got some plums from our store bought trees and we're trying to propagate them. Are plums like apples? You can get them to grow, but more than likely, it will not be true to the parent tree? Just wondering.

I watched your video series from the first seedlings, very interesting. I purchased a plum tree that was about 4 ft tall from Home Depot. It is now in it second year and bearing fruit (I realize the HD does something to make this happen and I am the benefiter of that and not the cause). I found your video because I took one of my plums and I now starting to germinate the seed. My question is, should my seed grow into a tree and bear fruit in two years like its parent tree did?
@RobBackyardGardenerr29 күн бұрын
No, my plum tree took more than 5 years to bear fruit and although it is possible to bear fruit sooner from seed, it is unlikely. Most fruit trees are grafted from an already fruit bearing tree which is why they produce much sooner.

TUDaH RBaH (thank you very much, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah Asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2).
