I am sorry that you had to deal with haters and spectators who were masquerading as friends and supporters. I think it looks pretty great! I would have liked it if the burger blended a little more, but i understand what you where going for so its not an issue, love to see how many iterations you went through looking for the right blend of colors and the burger feels at the center of everything. Awesome job

@@DURRELL.RASHAD but it was a good Start since I'm old (🤣 49 years in July) and I used to work on newspaper and magazines, it was always a shit deadline. And, down here we have the Brazilian problem. Managers are so shitty and they all lack the basic scheduling skills. We spent all week doing almost nothing. Suddenly, they decided, and now your deadline is The day before yesterday... So I usually make stuff that looks like the ugly one, it serves me as a draft, and I keep improving it. It seems easier to me then starting with "Modern design"

The design looks great, but the fire in the background suggests that the burger is spicy, which doesn't seem to be the case. If it's meant to be spicy, consider adding some text or a chili icon to make that clear. If it's not spicy, you might want to change the background to better match the burger's flavor profile.

One time I did a back to back to back interview with an agency in okc I was told how great I was in 2/3 of the interviews the last interviewer told me I wasn’t a creative because I was too bubbly to be a creative. Fast forward to last week they reached out to me on indeed about my resume for a position. No thanks 😅

This particular design was with a client so it was a few weeks, I just edited the entire process together to explain it in under 3 mins. The logo actually took a few hours if you count the moodboarding, sketching, design, finalization. Then i had to wait for them to get back to me with changes. I might do a Logo Design Challenge in 3 mins tho if yall would watch it lol LMK!

@@DURRELL.RASHAD Great to hear. My graphic design course has similar projects: weeks of reseach, thinking and trying ideas (sketches), followed by an hour of execution. Sometimes less, sometimes more. Within a day, with the exception of the hand-made physical module. That was 2 weeks of execution!

Man! I have so many thoughts about this, I was actually going to make a video here soon about it. But I think it eventually will settle in and find its place like Fiverr & Upwork have. I think it will hurt & help the graphic design industry tbh. I think graphic designers will be more efficient but I don’t think they’ll be replaced (yet)

I get the "you gotta pay me like you need it in 2 days". Dynamic pricing like the airline industry. High demand / despration from the client - high price. Planned well in advance to give you development time? Lower rate to accomdate other projects in the longer time.

Not at all lol this isn’t an airline, this is a logo. It shouldn’t be rushed, and it shouldn’t be cheap. They can potentially make millions off the designs that you create for them if they market it correctly. You should always treat your efforts with that mindset & with that respect 🤝

If you can't do it (in that time), I don't know if you'd price yourself out of the market (very expensive to increase the priority over other projects), or simply say no?

@@dcarbs2979 I've worked in "Fast paced" aka toxic environments LOL that forced efficiency & quickness on the designs so i got used to it. I kind of learned how to design anything within a few hours. In these cases i would require more hands on work from the client. So i would require a sketch, more design inspiration, mood boarding, and more thorough answers on a questionnaire. I would turn myself into more so of a vessel than an actual artist at that point. So the ideation & concept would be more of a team effort, instead of just me trying to come up with it on my own. If they couldn't accommodate me on that part then i would likely pass on the project. Because at that point they're probably a nightmare client & the money is rarely ever worth it to work with them lol

As long as you have the skill you can find work, I've always had a stable job/income with graphic design work since 2013. Its competitive but if you get better at your craft & update your portfolio then you should be able to find work!

The thing is: I'm a very shy person, I don't have a network. I think this is something that can make things difficult. I'm still trying, but it's getting hard since 2023. I love GD but I also love to pay the bills 😅

Haha man I know what you mean, I’m shy & introverted as well. One thing that helped me was just taking baby steps. Posting my work as much as possible & reaching out to 5-10 friends a day (you can start with 1-2) asking if they need services or know someone that needed my services. After awhile you kind of build up muscle memory & don’t overthink it anymore.
