I loved the reaction Pat! I just wanted to point one thing out that Gavin playing the hi-hat with his foot in the later part was not because he was "excited" or something, he intentionally did that to give the effect of the fast pace of the song! It's not something accidental or something he improvised in the moment, you can even hear it on the actual studio recording! Gavin never does anything accidentally and always plays for the song! Thanks ❤

The need to route every drum mic as stereo is extremely wasteful of resources and quickly exhausts the 16 stereo outputs of a standard sized kit with 3 rack toms and 2 floor toms. I really wish there was an easy button in the SD3 mixer to route all mics as mono before being bussed to the multi-channel stereo pairs to the driver so that I can easily just bus them as individual mics in Logic. I haven't found a video yet that describes how to do this. Yes, this compromises the ability to use bleed, pans, and presets within SD3, but for those of us who solely purchased SD3 for the samples and perhaps eKit tracking and want to do ALL our production work within Logic, it seems a reasonable ask of Toontrack. If anyone has a link that can show me how to do this, please let me know.
@PatFlanigan5 күн бұрын
Yeah I think I remember a tutorial (from GetGood Drums) mentioning that setting up stereo channels for multi-outputs was the best way to go, at least for their libraries, yet I'm not sure they ever specified why. In an IRL session, most of the drum tracks would be mono...

This song is consistently in 11/4, from beginning to end, during all the sections. It sounds both natural and complicated at the same time. So cool.

Fun side note, the band asked Eloy to write a song from a drummers POV and they created around it....this, is that song. The final chapters of Slipknot are going to be fucking amazing.
