He is the best drummer I have seen over the last 5 or 6 years from a metal standpoint. He is ripped and hits the drums so so so so hard!!! But he is perfectly in time and I mean PERFECTLY! Its like the record every time and its all so complex and fast and hard. He is incredible.

I agree, he doesn't stick to Silveria's original blueprint at all... Always trying to add new and different things. Some times I like it when he does it, but other times I feel he butchers the rhythm and groove of certain songs, like Freak On A Leash. However, that being said, I absolutely loved his drum work on Korn's The Nothing album!! He was an absolute beast there! And I must say, on some of the songs, it kind of reminded me of David's work on some of Korn's early albums. Overall, Ray is a great drummer, one of the best in the metal field today, but he needs to stop messing with Korn's early albums.

Also, Ray is more fun to watch than David. Ray is just so fun and energetic on the drums, whereas, David isn't all that much.

@@aaryamannambiar6677 yeah man. If he stuck to the way they were played on the records then I would be happy. Agreed on his own stuff though as the last three albums especially have been brilliant and his parts are cool. Now Head is back though it still cries out for that David groove in places, but Ray is so very very very good that we can let him off for being a bit straighter in his approach. I'm just jealous ha! Did you see the videos of Ray's drum tech standing in at a festival when he had to leave the tour? The tech played the old stuff great. Much more true to the record! Sometimes with how Ray is though, it becomes the Ray Luzier show and Korn were never like that. Just the 5 of them as a unit rocking out without all of the flash and showing off. If he played the old stuff better, again I would be happy with all that showmanship, but it just goes over the top when he isn't playing it right!

I am just a mark for David though I guess. He looked really great in a pair of CK jeans and no shirt and I am not even gay ha ha.

Thanks! Yeah he is definitely riding on David’s coattails, but I thought he had put enough of his touch to the song to deserve a feature. I’ll have to cover Dave at some point; plenty of other sick Korn songs with him behind the kit out there!

@@PatFlanigan Indeed. Ray is talented I in no way say he is not a epic drummer but David had already created the formula for him. Ray does add some nice flair to the older songs thats for sure. I am really enjoying Jay Weinberg's drum cam footage the last while. Its really well done. Should get some of that on the channel. Keep up the good work.

Yeah it’s pretty much David’s part... whether or not Ray’s is better is up for debate. I just really like this performance as it’s own thing

@@PatFlanigan Is it weird that I think that Ray "over do it" when he is playing Davids songs? It kind of ruins the songs for me when theres loads of fills that wasnt there in the originals.

Karl Svensson Definitely not weird to think that. I kind of agree actually. It’s a cool drummer feature, but a bit “overplayed” as a Korn song.

Ray has been with them for 14 years! When are people gonna stop with the David Silvera was groovier bullshit. Ray is a great drummer and deserves so much more respect than he gets from these whiners.

@@PatFlanigan I should state that I think Barker is a good drummer. He's a pretty nice dude too. My old band used to practice at his clothing store in California.
