Instead of a Trap you could also use a Critter pick up, set it to "0" max critters and then either set it to adult or baby versions of whatever you want auto wrangled. So you could in theory leave all the baby critters in that room

The nuance of door permissions for the ranchers is a step above anything I have ever done. What a great idea, thank you. I have been manually adjusting the door and sweeper setting every so often. This would also work for pokeshell but moving the spawn away from the eggs using the critter pickup and critter drop off buildings.

Nice, i usually go for 1 door and disallow storing for the rancher, but that's cleaner i think. Also you can add a hole in the wall so they are exposed to the map so they are not cramped in here (only relevant if you have wild critter i guess, but dupes will bring wild critter eggs in). Later on, when you have incubators dedicated to refill stable, you can add a tile of water downstair for evolution chamber. I saw version of it where there is an incubator below, trap the rancher inside and a contraption to sort lullaby egg manually and do a micro intensive 1 incubator lullaby session.

This is a good way if you have access to plastic, which you don't in the early game. I found the classic three water reservoir technique to work best in this scenario: build 3 mechanized airlocks (sideways) on the ground with one reservoir on top each. They are connected in series. Use a simple cycle sensor (set to 50/50) to send a regular signal to tank 1&3 and an inverted signal (using a not gate) to tank 2. Just make sure you start filling the system when the green signal is sent (prevents liquid to exit tank 2). All you need is a downstream water sieve. This works quite nicely and is maintenance free.

It’s probably to late, but you can make storage in your water tank and put all the slim in the to keep the slim lung controlled and use a slug press to start converting it.

Aloe vera is a good plant, use it early. and the light crystals are good for use on the trees, so that they will grow and make nectar and food for the fine animals that make ethanol

Love this pack. It is difficult. In the regular game you have to live well around 20c. In this pack you have to save all plants and animals and cool everything down to at least -20c. It is difficult. Lots of heat/cold handling

The basic yellow mustard is garbage in my opinion. Spicy, Dijon, and various other mustard have been good. I second the hot dog and sausage/brats with mustard (spicy brown mustard). The follow-up horseradish question: no, I do not like horseradish. Can tolerate it mixed into other stuff in certain doses, but do not like. The other follow-up of gateway: mine was either on lunch meat deli sandwiches or on sausage.

The bank I worked at actually had the big vault and door but it's not stacked with money like the movies plus a lot of banks are older buildings which tend to have the older infrastructure. the vault we had was also time locked in the morning and evening so it tended to stay open during open hours behind the employee area :)

Only one research receiver, it gives you a few starting research items that make the early game a bit more doable, though you unlock them through basic research as well. It also comes with a cute log entry. :) The new critters and plants are very cool. New dupe and critter temperature mechanic as well. Really makes you think differently about some aspects of the game. (and now I really *really* have to build that ice themed rec room with sauna) A practical issue I ran into is that buildings that are not made of snow/ice, start at 20C even when built from colder materials, so building planter tiles for plants that need negative temperature was a bit of a pitfall. Basically also means that you can't build anything from mercury as it'll insta-melt as soon as you build it. I hope that the devs will fix this.

I just try this cooling system in my base but i don't know why it's leaking alway in the same area; since i use petroleum in the cooling system i know it's not water melting from somewhere... The pipes are not breaking but i have to mop petroleum and refill my loop some time (like 50 L) Do you have an idea ?

Mustard is good 😋 with certain items not everything. Always liked never had any issues with it. Ketchup on hotdogs is gross and offensive to many hotdog lovers. Go try a Chicago dog or a Carolina slaw dog. No mustard with my chili dog. My favorite mustard is coarse brown. Horseradish is good. Try some horsey sauce from Arby's on your roast beef with Swiss Cheese 😋 or some horseradish on a Ham steak.

I would build a designated Massage Room to better manage stress and place a trap door (mechanized airlock with automation switch) right next to your food storage so you can easily rubber room binge eaters next time they freak out.
