Thank you for making the continuation so quickly after 2 was released. Alot of smaller channels release a part one, but then abandon the channel before subsequent parts can be released. And also the tone, the script, the narration has improved since the last Dead island story video!

I feel like Dead Island 2 was a disappointment compared to it's earlier installments Here's my reasoning: (Big yapping session) - The story felt pretty bland imo, with a lot of character deaths that didn't mean anything. Normally, you should be sad about some characters dying, but I was actively hoping for some to die, that's how little I cared about them. In Dead Island (1) I actually was sad to see some characters die, but that wasn't the case at all for me when playing Dead Island 2 - The slayers didn't stand out too much for me, and all of them do the same thing. In Dead Island (1) you would constantly see the slayers talk to each other, and you'd see that all of them have different opinions about the stuff happening, with cutscenes to top it off, but in Dead Island 2, the slayers you didn't choose get killed offscreen, almost all the cutscenes are in first person (Which isn't a necessarily wrong thing, but I preferred them in 3rd person), and the slayer you do choose barely alters the story, with only the dialogue being changed. - Why is it called Dead Island 2 when it isn't happening on an island?!!??!?!?!?!?

Played Arthur's ending yesterday, didn't get the choice, didn't get any of the 2 cutscenes. That bit with the boy is so good, why did they remove it ?

OG dead island was a amazing game, I loved playing it when I was younger I still play it with my childhood buddies when we get together and stay the night during 4th of July, feels like a tradition now lol

The plot of first Dead Island was very captivating, simpler. Although with several bugs, the game was (still is) fantastic

Great game, I got it 2 years ago, played for around 20 hours, not even at the lab with Arthur and still got so much to do on the map. Took a break, ended up being 2 years break...watching your videos to remind me of the universe and the story so far before I try to get back into it. I really like the story and universe, and I read that they backtracked a bit on making the overdose (and something else I forgot about) less about surviving and hard mechanics into something more accessible at launch but it totally feels like the game lost something when they removed those features even without having played Early Access, it feels like they were removed after player feedback but were never balanced out. I don't remember why I had stopped, maybe I'll remember quickly once I start playing again. I'm amazed I spent 20 hours in the game and not even done with Act 1, I would totally have wanted We Happy Few first guy but more polished game and fleshed out, given they added replayability by making the map procedurally generated which meant even more hours out of 1 Act (not for me though, I usually don't play those games, didn't know this was one of those when I got the game). and then made We Happy Few 2 with Sally, and We Happy Few 3 with Ollie, then the game might have been more polished and balanced. This game totally needs to be revisited, 3 installments, each with actual survival mode or chill action playable whether the map to be still procedurally generated or not. Procedurally generated map + 3 acts do not go well according to me, especially one with a linear main story, and the game still feels so great though.

I liked the story when it was just a zombie plague .. hate the new lore it was a pretty good game tho

I made it until Sally and the records part and then just quit. The fetch quests were way to far apart, way to much running back and forth and it just got boring. :)

one of the greatest games for real.. I absolutely loved this game as a kid. I got every item, completed it with every character did every quest etc. all before being able to look that stuff up. Ive always wanted the second game but honestly it will probably not be near as good as the original.

Finally doing a full run now, and I almost feel like Ollie's story is my favourite - which is pretty sad, because I keep on getting achievements showing that less than 7% of players even got there. And it's hard to blame them. I did Arthur's quest when this first released, but it was so broken - so many quests un-finishable - that I just couldn't take any more. Playing it on PC in 2024 is a completely different experience, but there's few of us who would make the time to go back. TL;DR - great vid, totally agree.

12:41 I had the same issue with the bobby pins. Thankfully, I remembered that Bobbies almost always carry them - so I spent a few nights in town just quietly stealthing them from the bushes. It got pretty comical by the end - a pile of 10 unconscious Bobbies, with my next two targets curiously examining the pile of corpses in front of them. Eh, it worked!

This game and it's story, along with others (slime rancher comes to mind) make me heart sick from the cliff hanging plot. I understand the player is meant to be left wondering. But the turth is I just wanna know. where did Arthur end up? Was Gwen and Sally okay? could they have worked together? I'm too much of a sap to really play these games, they make me think too hard.

I see a lot of truth about what's going on today too. We really are encouraged to forget the bad and remember the good. We pretend to be happy to please others. Doctors are pushing antidepressants to make you "happy". We have to dress to blend in with society. If you're sad all the time, no one wants to be around you. Joy is an experimental drug. We are making experimental drugs. in we happy few, Arthur was an unwilling Guinea pig for coconut joy. In reality, the government is doing experiments on their citizens (the jab). Downers are the druggies that never recovered. Those in the village represent the ignorant population. I respect the plot of We happy few.
