Omg, thank you for it using the word “objective” when you mentioned “technical challenges”. You’re literal my hero for the day for that alone… I’m no prude when comes to playing with the English language and how adaptable it is, but after we lost “literally”… I just appreciate the respect for art appreciation!

Idk what the big one is??? From the little I can make out from the poster on my phone (may have to pull up the Mac and see if I can brighten it up)… but from the poster and what I can see in the moment.. either Pops and Lupin fight over Fujiko Mine, or they tag team her… I assume that I am wrong on either front. The Lupin content here is top notch and I’ll look into other stuff too as I have time, but I hope the OP is seeing the little surge in Lupins creds lately… Thanks for all you did! You are appreciated for sure!

I have to ask about Pune… I never saw a dub of the first season, so I assumed it was “poo-neh” like phonetically in Japanese “pu-n-e”? I just never considered it before and I hope his name is just “Pune”, and dissertations aside you sound like a human of reasonable intelligence, and a bit of cheeky, whimsical, and fun person with the English language because it’s so absurd… and for some reason I get a sense that it’s earnest, and not the parroting “jokes” that some folks don’t fully understand (which is why we literally don’t have a word that just means literally anymore, like omg it’s so sad..) I’ll rewatch “part 1” to confirm about Pune as I see this is a two year old video… I sincerely hope you’re still fighting the good fight, and doing the KZfaq… since I’m a “grown up” I’ve dipped my toe in the water and panicked because brilliant friends were getting 20 views a video and told me it’s a grind and for some reason my first video which may still be up from a different, non-theoretically whimsical channel this was gonna be if I ever did anything, but I mean it was only 300 views in 24 hours and a thousand by weeks end so then I felt a pressure to do this certain thing.. and I’m a professional now. If I ever did try again at this platform or any it would be purely a way to explore my creative itch as opposed to seeing if I could make a successful KZfaq channel while working full time and taking 21 credits that term which required special permission and was silly and partially uncontrolled adhd that I could strangely focus in bursts until two years of CBT helped me manage as a young adult and changed my perspective a lot…obviously, I’m not using those tools to help myself rn, but i woke up 5 hours early for some reason this morning and stumbled here.. I will totally be seeing what you’re currently working on if you’re still around! I might even wait until my mind is more rational before writing long winded embarrassing comments about my life, haha, there’s was just a time when I also got way into Lupin and really enjoyed this. Cheers, and thanks for the Pune laughs at least as much as anything because at heart we all have a twelve year old laughing tiny human… it just depends how much we choose,or are able to listen too or expose those pieces of ourselves… As Goemon would say, many thanks.

This is a truly a fun exploration of the 1st “season” in a fun way. If you can find the Manga Entertainment dub of Castle of Cagliastro… I once told a girl I hung out with in high school it was my preference over Howells Moving Castle (not visual and what not) but as a “fairy tale” in the classical sense. Simple themes, but a truly fun and unique exploration of those themes… I was mocked, and we started to hang out less mutually as our ideas were different (we had this weird connection where her dad won that Stan Lee superhero show, and through a part time job way later I worked with someone who was helping the runner up who wanted to expand her brand with comics.. she wanted “us” to make her comic book and as someone not finished with high school I was like “why am I in these meetings with “real grown us”.. I for sure, felt like I enjoyed stylized drawings more than most in the group of mostly veterans who I still respect and talk to a few of them today)… and for a while I felt terrible because she had a really hard time with men as we all grew up, but hey, I’m no super anti-hero like Lupin, and can’t chop a plane in half like Goemon.. and if it wasn’t high school I would have made more of an effort to maintain the friends and have that “rock” for the people who needed help, but hey, it’s high school we all had our own 💩 to go through… we also took a “heroic dose” of the dreaded cubensis while watching Yellow Submarine, and to this day one of my favorite memories was after the scene with Lucy in Sky, she just turned to me and said “this is the happiest moment of my life”.. I mean substances and whatnot, but it was a fun moment…).. I need to reconnect with Green Jacket… the stroll through memory lane, and it fills my heart. Thank you for your fun ramblings, and even the truly analytical stuff too.. My first experience was with Red Jacket and Tony doing the dub so that’s what I hear as his voice generally, and that dub is hilarious with old weird pop culture references… and I’ve honestly never watched it subtitled because of how I appreciate that part. “Bonkers” is perhaps the most accurate thing I could use to describe it as opposed to “insane”…

I'm really interested in your perspective on The woman called Fujiko Mine, since to me, it was so full of misogyny and fanservice it was near unwatchable. Also many things were unnecessarily edgy for me, but that's the least of the series' problems imo.

Sad that Tim Burton basically had a have a temper tantrum to get what he wanted in regards to Nightmare Before Christmas. The guy was a childish brat and a bully.

Part 5 is at the bottom? I thought it was excellent, not only does it have a well-made overarching plot, but the stand-alone episodes were some of the best I've seen.

I was only ever tangentially into Tim Burton. To me, despite having seen the movie, the most iconic Jack Skellington isn't the man himself, but the version of him that appeared in video games, that I took around town to slap people with his Soul Robber. I never saw The Corpse Bride. I've never seen Edward Scissorhands, I've never seen Ed Wood... But I have seen Evangelion. For a long while I've seen some of myself in Shinji, a sort of nervousness and timidity and surety that everyone around you hates you. I think it's hard not to see some of that if one is in a similar situation, since Evangelion is all about the terror people experience in the process of opening up, and all that. To me, the ending of Evangelion is, despite it all, positive. Uplifting in a sense, a declaration that Shinji-and by proxy, the viewer-*can* live a life where they can open up, defeat that timidness of character that comes from assumptions one has about the people around them. It's hard, but it's worth it. *End of Evangelion*, on the other hand, is a movie I only watch when I want to hurt myself emotionally. If the TV show ends with a resounding 'I can', then End of Evangelion is a loud and spiteful 'I can't', where nothing will turn out well, and where everyone will die within that shell. In some small way, End of Evangelion is the nightmare I see if or when I think about a possible future where nobody comes to mourn me. In a way, it's uplifting to see what it looks like for someone who truly 'can't'. At the very least, I can look around at the life I have, where I have opened up to people and given them the love that I want, and know that it's nowhere near as laughably grey as most of the movies in this essay. It's never a straight shot, but I think I feel a little bit better about myself tonight for having watched this. I am not Tim Burton. Thanks. It was good.
