Did you get round to installing the newly ordered shocks? Was looking at a 99s but now looking at the 82 as better out the box and cheaper but with new tyres. Then shocks like yours.

I was able to get the INJORA 53mm Rear Shocks (amzn.to/3MaUTuw) and NJORA 59 mm Shocks (amzn.to/4fNvC78) to work. For the best action, I needed to use the metal front shock mounts and put the shocks in the hole towards the truck's rear. I have that video almost ready; I just need to capture a video of how it turned out.

The switch being low to the ground also happened to me in the MN82, I was crossing over a tree root over and it shut off. I thought I blew up the motor or receiver or something but it luckily it was just that. Other than that, so I think there are 4 version of this thing now, the earliest non-porpotional with 130 motor, the non-propotional one with 260 motor, the propotional with 260 motor and now propotional with 280 motor..

I have the original MN99S, seriously under powered. My nephew melted the transmission running in the tall grass. I upgraded to the single speed metal one, and it is really noisy. But, at least it runs again. To shed weight, I installed the half cab roof. And I like the new bead-lock tires. They are more scale and look less toyish. Great review, and I love your indoor course! Liked and subscribed! Cheers!

Thank you, I agree the old one is underpowered. I change out the battery and electronics on the old version to a 2S Lipo (50C) and it made a big difference in performance but it runs HOT! I have the metal gear box, I have yet to install or make a video on that. Coming soon! I hope to figure out how to make it quieter.

@BillsWorkbench
@BillsWorkbench 22 күн бұрын
There are a couple things to think about to convert from 5mm to 12mm. 1. Will the wheel and tire be too large for the MN99S? Most likely yes. 2. How will I attach the new wheel? Most of the spacers I see on amazon don't have a good way to mount the new wheel. 3. Unless you already have the wheels and tires that will fix, it may be cheaper just to get wheels and tires made for the MN99s. amzn.to/3SqNT04 4. If you have a 3D Printer there are plenty of STL files out there. www.wpl-rc.com/blogs/news/5mm-to-12mm-wheel-adapter-stl

Hi, This is a great video on how to make axle little bit longer to fit bigger tires. I have some questions though, in the video you mention that you use different servo (a bit smaller) What servo did you use? And if I want to use a stock servo or metal servo with same size as stock 25g, how to adjust the servo mount? Sorry I still new in this, since I don't have any experience in 3d printing and Need to order to guy who has the 3d printer Thank you for your response Edit: Turn out the servo mount design was modular, so it can fit stock servo size (sorry for not read the description) Anyway thank you so much for your effort, really appreciate it
@BillsWorkbench
@BillsWorkbench Ай бұрын
It looks like I have the stock servo still in the MN128. The servo I was thinking of using was a MG90S which is a bit smaller. Looking at the 3D file posted on printable (www.printables.com/model/737691-mn-128-trailing-arm-extensions-and-universal-servo/files) they are for the stock servo. If you are still using the stock steering linkage then the stock servo will be fine. The plastic linkage will act as your servo saver. If you upgrade your linkage to the metal linkage you will also need to upgrade your servo. With all that typed, you should be good to go printing what I have in printable, use the stock servo and servo linkage and get a M2.5 screw kit. amzn.to/3wlhLms

The additional springs have a different spring rate, I don't not remember if they were harder or softer. But I did end up experimenting with the different rates to find a good balance with the battery I am using. The battery I am using is heavier than the stock, so that will play into the tuning as well. Overall I am happy with the 70mm shocks. It's much better than stock and better than the cheap leaky ones.

I swapped out the radio/ESC for the one in the MN82 and it worked like a charm. So it must be the electronics module. This last weekend I swapped out for a RadioLink receiver and a cheap ESC. (Video coming soon) It does seem to be working better, it is still "under powered" as it stalls. I don't think it's the replacement ESC because it will get over if you give it full power. The old electronics module would not do that. With that said. The MN99S platform is a nice little platform if you like to tinker and upgrade. I plan on getting my 3D printing skills up to the task and make some modifications that will hopefully get this little guy up and running like a champ. I have lots of plan for this crawler.
