My Guard calls them “extensions” instead of “windmills”, but this was a really helpful video nonetheless! Definitely going to use this to help me practice and improve my form for the fall season.

I do a right slam toss (the basic toss) but I keep catching it at the opposite angle. I’m not sure how to fix this.

Hello, great video.. May I ask if it's okay to use a stainless steel pole instead of an aluminum pole?

I didn’t see the competition but if they didn’t win or at least place ima be mad that was incredible, my school never let us do rifles we practiced w couple of times and it was hard!! Yall make it look so easy and then the wya you do those flag tosses and spin around before catching it, what?!?! Every single one of yall have so much talent you must have an amazing coach!
@Lacideshae7 ай бұрын
Holy crap! Rifles are already hard but tossing them to each other and doing it on the ground?!?! This is some talent!!!

They were awesome I’m so glad someone taught them free hands! I’m so tired for watching color guard videos with people with both arms up in the air like a T. rex waiting for the flag. My coach was always on us about our free hand!

Why do you do your basic toss with your left hand?

I’m trying to learn more after 2 year of not making my schools team.(how does a girl with a broken arm and an sprained elbow manage to make the team but I don’t and I have a good amount of knowledge?) but hear I am practicing every day and finally managed to do a pole hit toss. Time to learn more

Hello! I am the director for JMU Nuance and we would appreciate it if you would take these videos down (or make them private) until after World Championships are over on Sunday, April 16th. We don’t release recordings of our shows until the season is over. Thanks so much!

My apologies Carly! This was released by mistake; I completely got the dates for Dayton mixed up and released the video way too soon. However, I will keep your comment up so that my viewers and I can learn from this. It won’t happen again! Also, thanks for everything that you and your program does for the color guard community! You are an inspiration to so many!

im like two years late to this vid, but i got tryouts in a week and i jus wanna know, can cones also be referred to as carves?? i think my school calls those carves
@Keezfocer Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, Emily! While most schools teach things similarly, my stuff is just one version out of many. Every school and coach has their own unique preferences that are a little different. My video offers guidelines, but it is always best to use the terms and counts that your coach specifically prefers. Good luck at tryouts!
@Lacideshae7 ай бұрын
We didn’t call them cones or carves but I can’t remember what we called them but I know we called windmills either blue devils or Red Devils I wanna say we had one of each (which is crazy cuz I went to a baptist school hahahaha)!
