If your cuttings are rotting instead of rooting, you probably didn't let the fresh cut callous over long enough

Yip but u would have to take the whole plant out , wash , disinfect with hydrogen peroxide an change the soil . But that dipping root hormone could probably work

We've bought the LOMI for similar reasons and have had it for over two years. During this time the blades inside the bucket got stuck multiple times and they are hard to get unstuck. Don't think of adding potato peels because they will cause a mess. In general, it's best to precut the veggies before putting them in. The fan stopped working after about a year, and had to be replaced, which seems to be a common problem. Eventually LOMI had to send us a new unit because the replacement fan didn't work either. BTW, Lomi customer service is very slow and frustrating to deal with. Expert opinions are mixed about the "compost" Lomi actually produces. Is it really useful compost or simply organic waste? We are now considering buying the Reencle which has a larger capacity, and produces actual compost with a system that doesn't need as much electricity as the Lomi.

Thanks for the post. The lifecycle information is good to know. I am new to owning plants and did not expect to get gnats. I am growing basil, celery and bell pepper so I don't want to use chemicals (or eat chemicals). I will be trying these suggestions.

I was looking for a video on how to propagate Pothos into water and was really happy to find your video because most videos get so long & drawn out then eventually will show you how to do it. so I’m glad that you went straight into it , The visuals were very clear on what you were doing and your explanations were easy to understand ..

I was told by a Costco rep. That the carbon pellets can be purchased at Home Depot & pet stores. The tablets do not need to be used if you use the soil in your garden. Plus buying it at Costco you get a lifetime warranty.

Thank you for this report! Do you use your compost for your gardens & plants? If so, could you do an experiment comparing the results in plant life?

What is the name of the place you are touching? I was given that same plant by my friend who was moving, she didn’t know the name, and I couldn’t find out! I’ve been taking care of it, God knows how, because I don’t know what it is!😂

Hi! Thanks for the vid. I’m new to propagating and I have had two different pothos cuttings in water for a month, and they both have some 2-3 inch roots. When I initially cut them I didn’t do singles- i left the stem with around 4 nodes, so I’m wondering if now when I transplant them do I need to just plant as is? Or can I cut them into singles? Any help appreciated!
@tenneyplantsАй бұрын
You can do either, whichever you prefer! Plant the whole rooted cutting you created in soil or cut them into smaller pieces and let each root on its own. It sounds like you did a great job though!

I’ve been propagating clippings from a pothos plant that I got from my late grandmother. I think the original plant got root rot but I was able to salvages three clippings. All three have very long roots (8-10 inches) and I need to pot them. Do I need to clip the roots back or not? Do you have a video for planting propagated pieces?

Sorry, but there's a lot of false/misleading stuff in this post. The Lomi produces CO2 the same way waste in a landfill does. Bio-decomposition does that, no way around it. And the poster needs to learn the difference between a kilowatt (kW) and a kilowatt hour (kWh) before talking about energy consumption.. Comparing this thing to a microwave is silly. Who runs their microwave 24/7 ? Time-of-use is a thing. I could go on but pretty sure that would be pointless.

a lot of mine r on the windowsill of a north facing window and the east wall of a room with a large south facing window also a tip ive done with mine is to NOT change the water pothos plants have a root hormone that they give off and helps it to grow roots the only time i’ve changed mine is if it has a suspicious mold not alge thats normal but like actual mold or if it starts to smell bad if ur gonna move the water plants into soil make sure u fill a nursery pot with dirt and plant it then put it in a bowl and fill the bowl with water to help it settle and keep the water highly watered for a while
