LOVE LOVE LOVE that top shelf box for your "Projects". I have shoulder issues from reaching to high over my head. I'm thinking, a little fabric pull tab secured at the bottom front edge of my boxes on the top shelf might have saved my shoulder! May I ask WHERE did that box tray come from?

I love your idea of the fabric pull tab. I've had that box for years. It was a Christmas box that I found at a small town craft store that has long since closed down. I miss those kinds of places. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your idea.

Hi MaryLou. This is my first time to your channel. You are such a delight to watch. Where do you purchase your doll patterns ? I love to save tins and use them throughout my sewing room. Reminds me of my mom who used tins in her sewing room, especially for a large array of buttons. I'll have to check out your other videos.

Welcome and thank you! My mom used tins in her sewing room too. I bought several doll patterns at the fabric store. My daughters and I scoured the "craft" part of the pattern books and picked out several when they were on sale for 99 cents and we've been using them for years. I also like the doll clothes books by JoAnn Hines. She has some great ideas.

@maryloubailey3 ай бұрын
If you are talking about the size percentage of the image, you set that on the design screen (the one with the grid) before you cut. To change that, return to the design screen and make your changes. If it is cutting a different size than you set, THAT is a problem and you should contact Cricut costumer service right away. In the U.S. their number is (877) 727-4288. They are very helpful, but plan on waiting on hold for a long time. 🙁

Hi MaryLou. I really enjoyed this video. I haven’t sewn in years but I noticed I was getting more pleasure from sewing smaller projects too. You do beautiful work. Love your organization drawers. My thought about the buttons: I like how you sort by colour. I was thinking for all the other novelty packages you could sort by colour too. Eliminating the packaging would help with not feeling like there is so much. So have all the yellow round buttons in a pack then the yellow (or dominant colour yellow) oddly shaped buttons in their own pack. Sounds like a fun sorting project for Anne! Take care 💛
@maryloubailey3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind comments and Ideas. Anne and I are going to tackle those buttons soon and we will follow your suggestion. You are right that packaging does take up so much room and adds to the feeling of too much. I'll film the process so you can see our results.

MaryLou. I just got a cricut and am having trouble with the cutting. Its cutting but its also cutting on to the grip thing lol idont know what to call it . Any tips on how to fix that?? im a newbie so any advice would be great thanks
@maryloubailey3 ай бұрын
There is usually a light cut into the mat with almost any material, but it shouldn't be deep and should not make removal from the mat difficult. If it is cutting very deeply it is cutting with too much pressure. You can go into the material screen (when you're in the cut section of Design Space) and lessen the pressure for any material. Click on the material and decrease the pressure in increments of 5. Do a small test cut at each level until it cuts the way you would like. Good luck. Don't give up. There is always a learning curve with any new crafting tool or device, but taking the time to figure it out is worth the trouble.

I just found your video, thank you for sharing. I purchased NEW product Premium Vinyl Shimmer (Permanent glitter) and I cannot find this under the materials for cutting. I have used Permanent Vinyl, and my joy will not cut it. what am I doing wrong. HELP. I have no problem with other materials. I am a newbie. Thank you.
@maryloubailey4 ай бұрын
I have found that glitter vinyl is always hard to cut. You can go into the materials screen and increase the cut pressure for that one material. They say to increase just 5 increments at a time, but there have been times I've had to increase the pressure 50 more than the set amount. A new blade also helps. You can also set it up for a much heavier material, like heavy acetate , and do an experimental cut with that. An email to Cricut service asking about the new material may help. Good luck!
@SavedByGraced-wk3km4 ай бұрын
@@maryloubailey Thank you very much. I did speak with customer service, the material that i was inquiring about is not for the cricut joy. Now I guess I will have to buy a cricut machine to use the material with now. LOL. Love your video. thank you again.

Reducing your supplies is such a great tip, and one that is not recommended often enough! After moving into a new home, I started trying to determine how to create systems in my garage studio. But, I decided to make art instead. 😁 Actually, this was in the same vein as your tip, as I decided that whatever I didn’t unbox after 3 months was probably not worth keeping. I’m well past 3 months now and, while I haven’t unboxed them, I can’t seem to make myself get rid of them all either! 🤪

What to do when Cricut blade is not touching the vinyl to cut
@maryloubailey5 ай бұрын
First, check to make sure you have it set for the correct material. It could also be that you have debris collected inside the blade housing and it isn't allowing the blade to move up and down as it should. That requires a new housing. (around $40) A call to Cricut Customer service (877-727-4288 in the US) may also help. Be patient, you'll be on hold for a while, but it is worth it to get the machine working.
