7:50 as others have pointed out, don't don't do that, you risk breaking the ribbon (as I did...). You can just remove the battery without disconnecting that ribbon anyway. Hope my failure helps someone at least.

Most of the assemblies will come out with the removal of the four bolts on each side holding the steering assembly in place. Much easier splitting the assembly on the ground and reinstalling the entire thing back. Hard on the back working as you did. Also did you check the bushings on the turning bracket? Much easier to replace off the tractor. Grease is the key to keeping the steering working. The torn part of the old assembly probably rusted onto the outside and just ripped the sheet metal apart.

Ribbon on mine broke when I tried to disconnect from the circuit board. There was some glue attached to it near the 45 degree turn. Headphones still worked with about 30 minutes per ear, but definitely one is garbage now. I would advise to gently detach the ribbon from the glue somehow first, then attempt to disconnect the ribbon, as I think the glue is what did mine in. Edit: Fwiw, I read this ribbon controls ANC in full or partially, so the headphone will still work but will not support ANC.

Thanks for the video. I would like to add that you could separate the two halves enough to remove the battery without disconnecting the cables and you might have to lift the spring contacts slightly to establish positive contact with the replacement battery.

And let me also add that my earbuds were out of warranty. This was a problem from Sony. It was caused by an update they did to the buds that caused this problem so they fixed it even out of warranty.

So, after watching a couple of these videos I noticed that they put a lot of extra cord in the umbrella. So, I decided to start by checking the top end of the umbrella to see if the cord was still accessible there - and yes it was! At the very top, over the pulley, I could see the cord still there. So I turned the crank and loosened the cord more to allow me to pull the cord out further to push more of it into the end. I had to fish it back through the end cap (as I had to glue it in place a while ago because it kept slipping off and that's how the cord got abraded in the first place). I just used a crochet hook - worked like a charm. Then all I needed to do was pop the end button off, remove the broken piece and replace it with the end of the remaining cord. Thank you for this video! You saved me a lot of time, frustration - and money!!

whats that daisy chain of bolt size check kit you have?
@ificanfixitsocanyou
@ificanfixitsocanyou Ай бұрын
I can't remember where I got it, but it looks similar to "Nut & Bolt Thread Checker" on Amazon. It's not bad, but there are some drawbacks: if you are trying to measure the threads on something large, it's hard to spin the whole daisy chain around. Also, the threads aren't too deep. Lastly, I wish the markings were clearer.

Not sure that was particularly helpful. At the beginning it was a whirlwind of pulling clips of pins. But, which clips, which pins. Eventually it seemed you have to remove the mower deck, but that was not obvious!

One of my turn signals fell off and I have two wires hanging out. I bought a new set that has two wires with bullet connections. I just wrapped the wires around the bullet connections and nothing happened. Do I need to put a bullet connector on the wires? The other side turn signal is working so I don’t think it’s a bad switch. Thank You for any advice.
@ificanfixitsocanyou
@ificanfixitsocanyou Ай бұрын
As long as the wires are connected to metal, you shouldn't need a bullet connector. However, it is important to always have a good electrical connection and to protect that connection from the elements. Sometimes the metal on a bullet connector can oxidize, which means the outer surface is not completely conductive. Try sanding the outside of the connector until you see shiny metal and then re-wrap. But again, you will want a good, clean connection.

@user-qe3cd6ms8s
@user-qe3cd6ms8s 2 ай бұрын
you could have used that vice to close the washer around the ball joint and then just smacked the top of the ball joint while the vice supported the washer. Not a good idea though as the washer is a thin piece and it will wailer out fast.

Thank you. I didn't want to risk it using a heat gun, so I just used a razor blade to cut the adhesive on the case. I think it could be done without removing the ribbon cable there's enough slack.

Awesome video. I've just repaired one of my earbuds with your tutorial. I'd just add a note to say to open the earbud after applying heat, I've applied pliers, VERY gently, pressing on the sides where the parts are glued, not on top of the main surfaces. That allowed it to have a slight opening from where I could slide through the rest and separate the parts. Put some fabric where the pliers are pressing to avoid marks on the surface of the plastic. All this very very gently and it's working as new. Thanks.
