Thanks for a great video. This reinforces my decision to start with a Hooklift truck vs a trailer. My delivery yesterday was in a sloped driveway off a tight street with cars parked in the street. Truck and trailer, I’d still be out there trying to back it in 😅! Keep hustling my dude! #littlejunkers #rolloff #dumpsterrental #junkhaul
@AroundTownDumpsterRental5 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes a hook lift is ideal. I can’t wait to get rid of this trailer and upgrade to a truck. Paying my dues now but looking forward for sure.
@lyleschlabach660211 күн бұрын
on our trailer I alway start raising the dumpster before I hook the chain
@MAXCODumpsters12 күн бұрын
Have your future dumpsters produced with the chain attachment point on the side/middle of the dumpster. Somewhere above the tarp arm obviously so you can attach it with a much shorter chain. Having so much slack in your chain could cause the door to slam and pop the chain, which could lead to damaging the dumpster or even worse injuring a person or their equipment beside you.
@MAXCODumpsters12 күн бұрын
😵 Definitely not a good spot to break your tarp arm. I've bent the upper portion plenty of times now, but breaking the lower portion sounds like it would be a bit more expensive of a fix.
@Mohave-Equipment12 күн бұрын
How long are your 20yd cans? I would look at welding a new chain hook up a bit higher , just under the side taper and above the tarp arm. Great job on the hustle. Keep on it..

I take it you are at a transfer station. I prefer the city landfill whenever possible. Especially Glendale. You can essentially dump whatever. Good rates. Nice cans! Saw them at Superior when I was picking up mine.

How much weight is that hydraulic rated for,can you lift concrete cans or strictly trash?
@AroundTownDumpsterRental12 күн бұрын
We can lift concrete cans yes. We’re more limited by the total weight of both truck and trailer to stay under cdl for the time being. We can put 5 tons in the dumpster and be legal.

do you take the tarp arms off? why do you do that? i have a Nedlands trailer setup. i understand your new at this however your motor should be revved up more. your hydraulics seem very slow. that can't be good. and what i squeaking? wow. something is not right there. maybe something needs some grease. i am mostly wondering about the tarp arms. why are you removing them?
@AroundTownDumpsterRentalАй бұрын
Good call! So much to learn. I’ll test it tomorrow with the motor revved up higher. We broke a tarp arm off. Still waiting on parts. Maybe we should grease the sides of the rails?

I want to get into this what do you recommend? What size is that green dumpster?
@AroundTownDumpsterRentalАй бұрын
I’d recommend getting a hook lift truck and avoid the trailer altogether.
@mojohauling2716Ай бұрын
I have the same trailer in the 20ft version, couldn’t tell in the video but the trailer engine needs to run at min 2400rpm so the clutches engage fully. My trailer squeaks like that too when pulling up dumpsters. Nice setup, good job on the decals, best of luck to you guys.

Unpopular position: It would still be dead. Sorry, snake-lovers. We’re in central WV in the mountains with tons and even babies that our cats “gift” us AND two little kids running around. That’s a NOPE ROPE.
@darrensanimalsvideosАй бұрын
We aren't allowed to kill them here in Australia. I was bitten by the second deadliest just over a week ago, "dry bite". Only because I stepped on it in long grass (I live in a wetlands) most give a warning, browns, tigers don't, they'll even chase you, as will taipans and red bellied blacks, our pythons are pretty sedate when they get bigger but angry little things when they are little. 😂 There's a few snake and lizard 7' ones like small kimodo dragons on my KZfaq if you've interested. 👍🇦🇺

Gorgeous. Big snakes are less dangerous and smarter than the little ones. I got bitten on the big toe by an Eastern brown snake last Saturday, still ulcerated but it didn't inject me being a big snake, they like to save their venom, i accidentally stood on him in long grass while throwing chicken breast out to the big 7' monitors I get. 👍

Garret! Thanks for reaching out. First of all your dumpsters are looking great! We are firm believers in running clean dumpsters as a way to represent the high standards of business we do in our valley. Regarding this topic, we haven't yet had to charge a customer for damages. If the damages are minimal like a ding in the paint or ripped vinyl, we fix everything ourselves. If this is a recurring problem with a specific client, we will stop renting to them because we know they don't care about our dumpsters. That being said if the damage is more than cosmetic and hinders the use of the dumpster(say the door gets dented or latches are broke). In this case we would hold the client liable. A big thing we try to emphasize to our clients Is how important our dumpsters and keeping them nice and maintained is to us. Along with our rules for the dumpster, we encourage the client to treat the dumpster like its their own. Like when lending out a car or truck, you expect people to be respectful of your property and take care of it. We totally get how frustrating it can be getting a dumpster returned with minor damages that are hard to justify charging for, but hinder the good looks of the dumpster. As for now, our solution is to fix these things ourself and just eat the cost as a price of doing business. Hope this answer helps with that question! We feel your pain over here at BCH!

Thank you for your time writing this reply. I really appreciate your input on this. It’s topics like these we all have to figure out. It helps the industry by sharing this with each other. True. Still a 6k investment per dumpster though :)
@Mohave-EquipmentАй бұрын
Adding to previous comment. I believe it would be helpful in that us(the dumpster company) and the customer would basically have the understanding that " things do happen "... For them it may not have been an intentional or even a careless act but it would give them a little piece of mind that accidents happen and you understand these little miss-happs occur. For us, it helps us to maintain good customer relations by not having to make that call. Not having to sound accusatory and Keeping us on the customers positive.
@Mohave-EquipmentАй бұрын
Great question, the opinions are going to be polar opposites. That being said, I have been considering offering a damage insurance option to our customers on every can rental to help cover these situations and long term maintenance expenses.
@BlueCollarHaulersАй бұрын
I considered that as well, but my worry is that the customer will buy the damage insurance, and then just absolutely thrash our can. Then hit us with the “well I bought the insurance for a reason”
@AroundTownDumpsterRentalАй бұрын
Good thinking. I like the damage protection idea. Maybe there is a way to write that into the agreement. The protection could cover minor damage like paint and vinyl but wouldn’t include damage to door hinges latches or top rail.
