Why is everyone focusing on Mark Driscoll? They should be focusing on John Lindell and why he invited a satanic stripper into the house of God. And why afterwards, he has strove to denigrate Mark Driscoll. I tell you this I feel the Holy Spirit has left that church because the Holy Spirit will not co exist with Satan.

I am grateful for many of your comments. I have seen footage of many videos of Pastor Lyndell as well as relevant parts of the conference. Sometimes sharing opinions should come before expecting corrective actions? Both pastors might have thought that they were being led under Holy Spirit anointing and the questionable performance could be viewed from different standpoints. Something that seems worldly can be viewed as entertainment but usually has some satanic influence even when it's done at the Olympics. Time for all believers to fully understand Jesus/Yeshua and original Scripture. Thanks for posting your thoughts!

Every side of this spectacle is ridiculous, including the incessant commentary and self-important “analysis” and “biblical” exposition. But by all means, carry on. The whole lot of you demonstrate nothing more than that American Christianity is a joke. If there is a god, if there’s any truth expressed in the bible, every goddamned one of you clowns is a million miles away from it. It’s almost not even funny. I have never heard of you two pastors, but I too like what you have said. Every gathering should be about God. Anything else is in the "Soap Opera" camp. As God told Joshua when they were cleaning out the Promised Land and had never lost a man while battling the giants except for one little town called Aei. Joshua asked God why he lost so many men there, God said, "There is sin in your camp." We must be wary of disobeying God in any way. Nobody can tell me that God sanctioned the fleshly entertainment. He is a fun God, but sliding further down the hole to hell and offering titillating previews is not God's idea of fun. Somebody (nobody) went to God for His approval before booking the "acts." It was a farce and thus a fiasco. Mark was totally right in calling it out. It seems that he was the only one there who was listening. In agroup of 6000 men SOMEBODY should have been listening -- especially in a AOG gathering. I am SO disappointed in them all, as I am quite sure God is. He will be talking to each and every one of them, thanks to Mark putting a light on them. All of the prophets I have heard recently have said that He was going to separate the wheat from the chaff beginning with His own house! It has begun. People need to get off of the fence. Choose ye today whom you will serve!

They are both emotional babies😮 It is NOT there ministry or their churches…they have both demonstrated the types of character flaws that 1 Tim 3 rules out as leaders😮 Their respective boards should pull Rivers for lying about the individual he hired as entertainment being a Christian or having a family etc. Driscoll did what he always does …showboating and one-upping his fellow pastors😮 Pathetically childish and extremely arrogant are not qualifications for leaders😮 How much more pastoral malpractice must their respective churches endure?

Mark Driscoll despite his rocky past. Is 100% correct for calling out the performance. John Lindell is a liar, a false teacher by proxy and a lazy shepherd. Brandon Lindell is a liar and is also the man that selected the dancer for the show and watched him rehearse the show. Brandon also oozes a gay male cheerleader persona. David Lindell is a false teacher in the same manner as smiling Joel. Sometimes he mentions God but he’s mainly a motivational speaker that mentions God here and there. That church sins against God on a regular basis. John invites false teachers to his platform and never refutes their false message. This is a false teacher by proxy and it’s a very dangerous kind of false teacher. In his setup. He gets to platform false messages and when they get called out for being false. John gets to deflect the blame onto the speaker. “They said it, not me” This also points him down the path of the nicoliatan because he profits financially from each of these false teachers sermons. John also sells products inside the church for profit in a tax free venue. He’s committing tax fraud and turning the church into a market place. He misuses the tithe regularly. He will let the food bank go empty while he’s buying his office secretary a brand new $30,000 van. He has used the tithe to construct grand buildings with massive amounts of wasteful spending, like having well over a million dollars in glass at each site. He invites pagan entities inside the church like the Easter bunny instead of Jesus. And Santa clause and his magical elves for the kids to give their wish list too. They lie about the amount of miraculous healings that happen so they can entice the unsaved people into the church to boost their numbers and hopefully increase their incoming tithe. When you find out the healings are a scam. John will ignore any request to talk about it. And if too many people ask about it. He will give a shaming and condescending sermon to the church. After the toes got exposed as a lie. John taught that you should never challenge Gods anointed one (himself) or the bears will come and mail you to death. When it was the conference. John taught that the church is spiritually immature and a baby bottle is all they are gonna get to be fed. John Lindell has enriched his personal al life at the expense of the church. He has made himself fat and comfortable while he starves and ignores the needs of his congregation. When someone walks away for whatever reason. None of the pastors ever make an attempt to find the lost sheep. James river church is nothing more than a pay for your healing and salvation scam. When you don’t get healed they tell you that you either don’t have enough faith or you cheated God on the tithe. Every testimony they put on the screen is the same story with different details. Our lives were terrible and filled with sin but then we gave tithe to James river church and it all got fixed. We even got an envelope filled with cash in our mailbox for no reason. It’s always the same thing. Nothing gets better until money was given to James river church. God has rebuked John Lindell with Ezekiel 34:7-10 He will repent of his ears will be deadened to the voice of God. His lips will Be silenced and his flock will be taken away and given to a good shepherd. And so far it doesn’t look like he has any intention of truly repenting. He is just going down the list of sins and saying sorry until he sees that it’s dying down. It’s all lip service. I used to be in John Lindell’s main church in ozark for 3 years. In That time I asked to speak to John in private 7 times. David 2 times and Brandon 1 time. All requests were ignored. Other local pastors approached John Lindell. He refused to hear them as well. John is taking full responsibility because he wants to keep the spotlight from exposing Brandon’s secrets publicly And being laughed out his position in the pastoring staff. John Lindell is the lazy shepherd and Nicoliatan

My husband and I ran afoul of him nearly 30 years ago - in his early years at James River. We only attended there for two years, but much of that time was spent being informed after seeking help from him, and then when we found help elsewhere (through other Christian organizations/friendships/doctors, etc) we were bullied to a point of no return - He PURPOSELY LIED ABOUT US - FROM THE PULPIT - and incorrectly applied and executed Matthew 18 against us. Wether its a monster truck rally or sword swallower, people go to church to feed their sole and hear the word of God. NOT to be entertained by anything but the words of the Bible and great teachings. Mark Driscoll delivers the word and great teachings. A few points: 1/ The question of the nature of the pole dancing performance has to be clearly addressed - in short, is Mark's accusation true, or is it not true? 2/ John's dishonesty regarding personal details about the performer needs addressed (the performer has since come out and disproved some of what John claimed about the performer in his accusations against Mark). 3/ John's claim that he is above criticism or questioning because he is 'anointed', needs to be addressed. 4/ Looking through a lens of what Mark believes to be true, in that John's behavior is inexcusable in exposing his congregation to what he did and then his behavior afterwards, why is it dishonest for Mark to try to 'depose' John, as it were? If Mark truly feels that John's teaching, behavior, and leadership were leading people astray, or is even dangerous, why would it be dishonest of him to try to have him removed from authority? Wouldn't that be his moral obligation? People can disagree with those judgments about John, and say Mark is wrong about those things, but it's disingenuous to claim Mark is being deceptive or dishonest in what he did. In Mark's own mind, if he believes these things about John and the performance to be true, it's his moral obligation to do something about it. I understand Mark is a contentious figure, and there are accusations against some of his questionable behavior in the past, and even recent past, but I think ad hominem attacks are unproductive, and the merits of what both John and Mark have said and done in this situation should be what is focused on. And with an objective look at everything that happened, I think Mark did nothing wrong, in any way.
@Genxpastor
@Genxpastor Ай бұрын
The one thing I wish Mark had not done is text Johns son. If he did that and I believe he did. That's unnecessary, he would have been better off in my opinion not saying anything directly to the Lindells after they reconciled on stage. I would have preferred he make a public statement about his stance on the situation than go after the family. But my desire is the two of them privately talk and this drama doesn't continue to be public.
@MenOfVirtue
@MenOfVirtue Ай бұрын
@@Genxpastor So that's more a question of methods, than an implication of dishonesty on Mark's part. I can accept people didn't like his method, of approaching John's son. I disagree, I see it as basically 6 one way, half a dozen the other. There are definitely pros and cons both ways. Talking privately about it to them definitely has it's drawbacks too, particularly because John seems to be intensely resistant to being held accountable to any judgment on this at all. Just listen to his 'repentance' on this - what he repented for, was inviting Mark to the conference! He didn't repent on the performance at all. It would certainly be to his advantage, to keep this as private as possible, because in my opinion, the more eyes that get on this issue, the more people will see just how inappropriate it was to have that performer do what he did, and John would be held accountable. And John is incredibly sensitive to judgment about that, it seems. To the point he's calling himself 'anointed', and thus beyond reproach or criticism. Which is a crazy notion.

@Genxpastor Ай бұрын
Sure mark was right with his spiritual assessment of the situation. But in my opinion he didn't need to start texting Johns son. It's just a matter of knowing when and who to speak to. Mark has a platform he should have just waited a few days and then put out a video.

@MenOfVirtue Ай бұрын
@@Genxpastor Reasonable people can disagree on that, for sure. I think that's more than fair. I see the argument from both sides on that part of it. I'm glad you agree in Mark's read on the situation generally though. The performance was a real problem, and John's actions in defending it and everything else he's said just keeps getting worse. I'm deeply troubled by that side of it.

It breaks my heart to see tools used as an "attraction" to visit or decide to attend a given church. Despite my chosen profession, I hear Jesus' words to His disciples that He must be lifted up and He will draw all men unto himself. Hey fellas. Just a couple of things. I was at this conference. It was held in the Missouri State University basketball arena in Springfield, MO. I attend James River Church. John is a pastor that typically preaches it pretty straight and doesn’t pull too many punches. Which is why I was shocked at his response. While both men could’ve handled that situation better, it felt as if John was more concerned with his brand more than what Mark had to say. Both men later came out and sat together and spoke about restoring the relationship which was good but the issue itself was never addressed. I am praying for a gracious restoration of this entire situation so the world will not be able to mock the Church. In Friday night, there was over 500 men who raised their hand for salvation. They came forward in response. There was so many they couldn’t get them all to the front. Of course, not everyone who raised their hand necessarily commits their life to Jesus, but seeds were definitely planted.
