I'm not on our university's FSAE team, but I am on our Baja (offroading) team and it's a challenge building a car in time. We have the advantage of not really worrying about aero (unless Cal Poly's aero kit catches on) and engine (standardized kohler engine), but we have many of the same problems as FSAE. The university seems to hate student teams and has been funding us less and less while our ambitions keep growing. And it's not just funding they're shorting us on. They're handicapping our machine shop access, which sucks since we try to make as many parts as possible in-house. A lot of the good universities have amazing support behind their teams, and without it teams struggle. I wish more universities would step up and properly fund and equip their student teams so that they can compete at their very best instead of having to worry about whether they'll have enough money to make it to competition every year

Yes it was an excellent car, very dialed in, but imagine having Senna & Prost as drivers, there was no way they’ve wouldn’t crush everything else.

I hate the fact that there is no Senna-S anymore on the car. Once I spoke about with Frank Williams and I recognized that this was a very emotional thing for him. R.IP.

So no one is going to take a critical look but instead throw platitudes? Williams as a competitive f1 team died the day Frank Williams had his crash. Please stop with C19 and other nonsense. The rot and downfall was a long time in the making in much the same way as it was for McLaren for over a decade who were also at the wrong end of the table with Williams. Force India had even less cash than Williams and performed miracles. Peter Sauber is still in the game to name but two off the top of my head. Stop with the excuses. She was in over her head from the get go lost and then cashed out Franks legacy and life's work. Words such as lovely and such a nice lady. Nice and lovely do not win in any sport much less f1. She was the wrong person for the job and all the excuses in the world can't and won't mask that fact. Ask yourself and answer honestly. Would Williams be still in the Williams family had Frank Williams not had his accident. If the answer is yes then she was a failure. It really is that simple.

Problem in sport is that it is fickle and the way Claire conducted herself and the team should be held up as how everyone should deport themselves whether in sport or in business, glad you managed to get an interview with her.

You are spot on Claire. I never felt like you made a thing out of your gender until other people made it an issue. People get so hung up when they see a woman in charge and seem to think gender is the reason the team failed. It failed because of lots of choices, and of course some choices go your way, some don't, unfortunately for Williams F1 some of the choices made turned out to be the wrong ones, but many of those choices were made by Frank & Patrick. I'd love to see you back in F1, and I'd love to see you prove all the doubters wrong.

Williams has always been my favorite F1 team, and I was really sad when Claire left and sold the team. In my heart, I honestly wish there was a way back in for her, would love to see her back and to see her have some success, to see Williams back at the top with the family still in charge.

Frank gave his whole life to racing and building a F1 car, it has been said that the day Frank married, straight after the ceremony he was back at the garage, when Frank eventually stepped down and Claire took over, it was difficult time, William’s F1 team has always been about the sport, nowadays its not about the sport but purely a business where big engine names can use F1 to sell their product. Its an understatement to say how ruthless it is now, and a family run team like Williams stand no chance of competing against the mighty big manufacturers. Claire, you and your dad were the best where true sportsmanship mattered

F1 is a really hard hard business. Eddie Jordan could pull endless rabbits out of his hat but he eventually sold. You have to have mega money and mega sponsors just to survive. Look at Mercedes with almost unlimited money and they are struggling. Look at McLaren, I am not sure if it is Zak Brown is a magician but they are pressuring Red Bull. McLaren also has two very good young drivers. Claire should be proud and I hope the Williams name remains on the team.
