how would you feel about uploading versions where only the drums are muted? like a backing track for drummers to play along to, would be really handy! regardless great job getting these live versions sounding good. great work!

An all time classic, and a signature performance, by an all time great, in a legendary band! Great to hear the isolated track to get all the subtle nuances of Bonzo’s playing. A new perspective on a song I’ve listened to certainly hundreds of times. And played in a band tens of time. But not exactly like that

Mike is such a musical drummer that you can easily tell what part of the music you are even when there is nothing but drums. I bet that if you did that to 90% of the drummers, even extremely celebrated talented drummers, you couldn't tell which part of the song you are listening to. I have seen so many people criticize Mike for not being as overly complex as other drummers, but Mike has always put the music first and it shows.
@scottleitch29577 күн бұрын
I've heard this song a 1000 times, minimum. I literally could hear the music in my head. I get what you're saying, Mike has deep feel.
@Pirustae7 күн бұрын
You can tell which part of the music it is because you can REMEMBER the song as a whole.
@farrex07 күн бұрын
@@Pirustae Not really, the song is full of meter changes and has so many different sections to it. I don't think I could remember the song as a whole even if my life depended on it. I couldn't even sing it on karaoke, due to how many times it changes. And I am not familiar with he song to do so confidently... Also, do you think this is the first song I have heard with isolated drums? I love hearing them, not only because I love drumming, but because they often sound like a different song altogether. Often, I get a completely different vibe when hearing just the drums. But not on this one, this is the first song I have heard with isolated drums, where I was never lost the entire song. And even got the same vibe all throughout. I have heard isolated drums, on bands and songs I have listened way more times than this one...
@scottleitch29578 күн бұрын
I still recall, what, 30 years ago? This song was my first exposure, I remember my jaw being on the floor. As soon as I could figure out who it was, I went and bought I&W, and discovered the best music I'd ever experienced.

suppose the slop was part of the charm. JP was arguably one of the best songwriters and rhythm players of all time. But I do agree his live solos were not always on par with that.

@@jaketheisenmusic8849Hey Jake. I think I'll sub 2U. Would like to hear any version of "The Crunge" isolated. I've listened to many guys on utube play it. Since different drummers play it differently-some of them must be incorrect. I have 2 ways of doing it & 1 of them must be wrong. I'd like to hear correct way.

@@jaketheisenmusic8849Hi Jake. No, not Tool - don't know of "Grudge" ,but Daney Carey is great player. I meant "The Crunge" by Zep. I've found only 1 version of it live - from Long Beach Ca. And of course, the studio version. Btw, I appreciate your reply & I subbed 2U.
