Put a single hoop prop gaurd on the prop tips. Get rid of the frame gaurds .

2 bladed props less pitch faster rpm uses les energy might be less heat . Insulated motor mounts . And put cooling fan blade flaps to force more air through the motor . Hmmm

Great video, thanks for the info and the delivery! Was really looking to understand more about batteries (hope to see that Li-Ion video you mentioned, check out the difference and see which to go with for my needs), voltage and all you went through. Wanted to get over the fear with batteries so I can get myself a proper FPV drone (currently running the DJI Avata) and this helped a lot! Thanks!

Haven't tried it, but I doubt it, since the fc and esc board are paired together (which makes even swapping oem escs complicated). But it's worth a shot maybe.

I'm going to try that. As far as the launch anybody who owns the are mavic 2 knows it does not launch anywhere near that speed.

Cool project! A material like PC-CF would be a better option compared to PLA-CF, however, I assume that you are using PLA for ease of printing and material cost during prototyping. I noticed that the ducts are a part of the frame itself, have you considered making them removable/non structural? If you did you could try printing them out of a light weight PLA material like they use for 3D printed airplanes, that way they can be swapped out when they break and also save some weight. Bracing the motor arms together would help greatly with the overall stiffness, but would add a considerable amount of material/weight. For 3D printed parts perimeters are what will make up the bulk of the parts strength, I would try to avoid using infill where possible to save weight as it doesn't translate into stronger parts as effectively as perimeters do.

Is that 3d printed standoff lighter than plastic one? is that M2 screws that you're using?

Standoffs are 3D printed in the same PLA-CF. Yes for M2.

I usually put some thin carbon fiber plate on all of my 3d printed motor mount to isolate the heat from melting my pla. My motors often reach 100 degree C, so i've tried using bare PTEG. Still no luck. so yeah,put some isolation

About time i found a video on how to bind the FS-i6 transmitter to the older type FS receivers. Successfully bound the transmitter and reciever in video withing minutes of watching this vid. Thank you, just what was needed. Ps picked up x2 of the same receiver's for less than £5 each which will be going into my fishing and sailboat 😊 no need to spend the £16-£20 on the more advanced version.🎉

Adam. Nice video. How do I program each individual aux switch to do what I want? i.e. SWA - arm. SWB - change flight modes. SWC - (3 position) - xxx. SWD - RTL? The assign aux switches menu item seems un-intuitive. Thanks.

If I understand your question, the switch will be selected in the menu for that specific function.

i6s is even better. It has a touchscreen instead of menu buttons and center knobs are located on front corners and are spring loaded, so it's great for a tracked vehicle like excavator, bulldozer, crane etc. Yet... That touchscreen I mentioned before is impossible to get when damaged (hard to damage, but my kids achieved that).

What's the difference between an ESC with BEC and one without?

Hey! If the ESC doesn't have a Battery-Eliminator-Circuit built into it, you'll need a separate battery pack to power the receiver and servos. Nowadays, it is rare to NOT use a ESC with BEC for airplanes. However, standalone ESCs are common for quadcopters because they don't need to power servos or the receiver from the ESC (that's powered from a pad on the flight controller).

Saw you at flite fest, and the mustache was awesome. I wanna get into bigger quads. I have the beta fpv Cetus pro, which is just the mini whoop, but I want to fly outdoors more. I also don’t want to break the bank. What are your suggestions, or a video I can watch?

Hey thanks! Say hey next time and I'll give you a sticker! I don't have any specific models in mind, but I would say something in the 2.5-3.5" prop size range would be a good place to look. The smaller size usually means less weight, which means less likely to break, and the batteries will be smaller and cheaper than for a 5" size quad.

I have ffollowing problems 1. Transmitter doent show output mode 2, i accidentally soldered i bus input to sbus pad in FC will it ruin my fc 3. Channel mappin in Beta flight isnt working Please help me out
