I have been wondering who is the woman in the red gown in the front row? He threw her a kiss. Then she got up and left. Beautiful lady and this opera gives me the chills especially when he holds the long note at the end for so long. A God given voice that we will never hear again. Love Pavarotti ❤

Thanks so much for posting this gem from 1964. I had not heard many early examples of Pavarotti, this is just incredible. And how handsome he was back then at 28 years old. I had just watched a 1965 clip of him with Mirella Freni doing the famous duet from La Boheme. He's my all time favourite tenor, and this has just cemented his place at the top of list of great tenors even more. What a star. He will never be forgotten.

I heard him first when he replaced di Stefano at Covent Garden -- 1965 I think. He was an overnight sensation. I heard him in person many times. Truly a voice from God.
