I'm 34 years old and never listened to opera before about a week ago but since I found Pavarotti I've just become addicted to his voice and the feeling it gives me inside,for some reason it just makes me happy and some other feeling I've never had before with music.so glad I've found it.

As he aged those "2:40" and "5:59" notes/moments became more and more...the word escapes me...desperate. Not in a musical or ability sense, but in the sense that I felt he wanted his last possible breath of air, the final molecule of life/song/energy/breath set free in this life and world. This performance was powerful. His final performance was complete; he left every last ounce of himself.

I get chills every time I listen to Pavarotti sing this!

Not a big fan of classic or opera and I also don't speak Italian. Don't know a single word what he sing but I just cant stop crying. Very emotional, powerful and utterly magnificent. This is why he was the most famous vocal of the century. My hats off.

What a voice....It makes my heart sore to hear it...I get goosebumps....what a talent he had. heaven is all the happier for having him there now. I heard this piece 30 years ago for the first time when he visited China and that's the reason I started to enjoy opera. The world seems turned quite after the climax, since every bit of everything was given to sing....

Pavarotti the greatest ever, unfortunately I lost his last concert in Lisbon as it was cancelled due to his cancer problem. I It was a gresat loss to everyone that love opera.

My brother was studying at London's Royal College of Music in the 1970's, and he and I somehow got passes to attend a recording session in a church ( I forget which ) of TURANDOT - featuring Joan Sutherland and conducted by Zubin Mehta. ( In those days Pavarotti was the thin, clean-shaven one, and Mehta was bearded and somewhat rotund. ) Most fortunately, we happened to be present on the evening when the scene including 'Nessun Dorma' was recorded. For those who haven't heard this version, get the box set! Still, in my opinion, Pavarotti's finest performance of the aria.

There is no recorded male voice that even comes close, within the role or outside of it...he's simply unparalleled so everyone might as well just admit it

I loved this movie - possibly just because it was the only one he ever made. I know that I have listened to this version and watched this clip over and over. I remember playing a recording of him singing "Nessun dorma" over and over, as well. What an inspiration!

I can listen to this time after time... that last note (2x - but especially the second time) - no one ever had this, maybe no one ever will...

I think these are the best two performances of this Aria that were ever recorded. These, not his performances from decades later, were the ultimate performances of this aria.. Pavarotti was definitely the best in the world, but in later decades he could not quite match the passion, the force, the energy and stamina of this performance. Singing is partly athletic, and though world class athletes continue to refine their skill, their power eventually declines with the decades.

Pavarotti was at the peak of his career in this movie. I watched it in 1988 and watching the movie, listening to his voice made me fall in love with opera. Can't see the movie and listen to his voice enough. Thank you for sharing it!
