Hi! I just found this really great video of yours while doing research to make my sister an accessible controller! It’s wild how we all had the NES advantage controller growing up !! It’s been a huge inspiration for me. …what I’m discovering about video game controllers is that they are pretty easy to modify. Every controller and small game module with a built-in controller has a PCB board in it. Those boards are connected to the buttons, arrows, and sticks by conductive pads, or by wires. It’s actually really easy to a use the wires tucked inside the usb cable of a USB accessible “fighter stick” by connecting those lead wires in them to the hand held console’s pcbs. Do you have any friends who know basic low current electrical work? A diy’er or tinkerer? In some cases you don't even need to solder the wires to override a small handheld console’s built in controller, you can use clip on wires! If not, ask around in your community, church etc. There are many DIYers out there who’d love to help. These controllers are super low voltage so basic electrical knowledge is all that’s needed. You’d probably want to get another fighter stick like the one you have but USB ( for the purpose of tapping into and overriding the pcbs’s controller in your hand held console. I think a wired usb one would be best because you could cut the end of the usb cable and then connect the leads from the controller wire to the PCB using little aligafor clips or even just electrical tape. You’d open up the case for the console and try cnnecing each lead from the controller with conductive parts of the pcb until you match up the fighter stick’s buttons and stick with the console’s buttons and arrows. After that you could tape the or clip the connections in place. From there you'd mount the hand held console on to your chair with one of those bending arms smart phone holders with a clamp at the end. You can find them for $5 on temu or Aliexpress. I've seen the controller you like a lot btw on Aliexpress for $14 btw. Side note: if the handheld console you have has a micro usb or port for additional controllers (lots of the NES retro consoles have them) to can use adapters to plug directly into the handheld console without opening it! If for some reason it does have a usb port but the controller doesn't work, you would find a generic (but working usb micro cable and instead of opening up the console, youd just plug in the generic usb cable with the micro connector and spice into that wire. So you’d join the leads from the micro usb cable to the spiced leads coming out of the USB fighter stick. If you know anyone handy like this you can have them reach me and I can explain more. I'll send you a video I found in the meantime that really effectively demonstrates the simplicity of controller connections, especially on handheld consoles!
