So had the Warrior not had been fired and after he and Macho would have more than likely beat Flair and Razor at Survivor series would then transition into a program with Bret Hart leading up to a Royal Rumble clean tap out??? Make it make sense.😂

Devil’s Advocate here, but it was doomed from the start. You’re telling me the wrestlers who “invaded” WWF were a threat to Stone Cold, the Rock, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Kane, Farooq, and Bradshaw among others? You do, ok, I have some beachfront property in Arizona to sell you.
@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734Күн бұрын
1. No one would’ve gave a shit if Vince actually signed the big name stars, and made it an actual invasion storyline; instead of the contrived ‘daddy issues’ bullshit it was written as. 2. Then, by that token there should’ve never been an invasion angle in the first place…
@tylerbushong3452Күн бұрын
@@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734 1. You’re right, I guess that’s why no one cared when Nash, Hall, Hogan, Flair, and eventually Goldberg showed up. OH WAIT. THEY DID! Did you not see Wrestlemania 18? The crowd booed Rock (the good guy) out of the building and cheered Hogan out of the building. This was in 2002, when Dwayne Johnson was a crossover star. 2. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. They just got WCW, what were they gonna do, say “Ok, we won, we’re bringing these guys who have been our enemy for so long in, and now everything’s fine.”? People like you are the reason why a lot of society thought wrestling fans were ignorant, back water, trailer trash, brain dead morons who couldn’t read, which is why it took so long to publish a book by a wrestler.

Here's the way I see it, the biggest problem was that WCW had 15 guys who the fans would have loved to have seen come over: Hogan, Hall, Nash, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Sid Vicious, Ric Flair, Sting, Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Paige, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Jeff Jarrett. Those 15 guys, with Torrie Wilson, Stacy Kiebler and 25-30 other mid card, tag team or crusierweight guys would have given WWE a year of feuds to work with easily. Bret and Sid were both too injured to wrestle, but even with those two out, the other 13 would have been great. So how many did we get with the invasion: two. First Diamond Dallas Paige was badly miscast as the stalker and Booker started out okay as the WCW champion but was systematically made less and less important.
The Invasion angle debacle was foreshadowed by the wasted Mr. Backlund angle during the New Generation era. If they had Backlund run through all the New Gen guys while building up Shawn Michaels as a babyface for a year, then his finisher is the one that could defeat Backlund out of nowhere while hsi agility let him escape getting the Chicken Wing on him would have drew BIG BIG Money. Instead Diesel beats Backlund in 10 seconds and now you have a green worker with a low ceiling who couldn't even talk at that time waste a year being a chump champ instead of building Diesel up to be the big bad heel to come after Shawn when he won the title from Backlund.
@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734Күн бұрын
That’s an amazing referential point, that not many would’ve considered. Nicely done.
@tylerbushong3452Күн бұрын
@@TheImapotato the only problem would be that someone would ask what’s so special about the New Generation of someone older than Hogan and younger than Flair was running roughshod over them. They had to build up stars, and ultimately, one had to obliterate Backlund. I do like your idea of HBK being the one to destroy him then Diesel, the monster heel, going after Shawn.

Not booking Goldberg in a WCW Vs. WWF program is stupid ‘bUt hE wAsN’t cOmMitEd’ …. Goldberg was literally the last best thing WCW properly booked well as a mainstream star you can’t not book Goldberg with the contracts ain’t an issue. This is NWA/WCW Vs. WWF
@NLawrence963 күн бұрын
Those squash matches don’t work with real stars. He can’t work. Sting , Flair, Booker T, DDP , Hall and Nash even Scott Steiner put on better matches . Goldberg could be an opener and an enforcer guy that turns the tide of the match . But not the featured guy. That belongs to Sting , Rock, Taker , Austin , Hogan , Flair, HHH, Booker Tand Kurt Angle.

@thebadaids3 күн бұрын
This whole time I thought the “Montreal Screwjob” was just an insider term for Brett and Shawn passing Sunny around. I had zero idea it had anything to do with a match. That’s the real controversy for me. Learn something new every day. Shawn went on to have an even longer and more amazing career, and Bret is still to this day stuck in the 90’s basically treating a big boot from Goldberg with the same reverence as if it was 9/11. 🤷♂️

Who knew that out of this entire video, the most relevant and best point would be from Chyna. “Welllll, I still believe that when someone falls from the ceiling, the show should *probably* stop.” 😂 I mean, fair enough when you put it like that. I was always a “the show should go on” guy, but damn. That comment alone pretty much shut down my opinion. Capitalism is pretty damn powerful lol.
