I had no idea this was the real life Chief of Staff until this video. What a cameo

I’m glad that General Hammond didn’t tell General Ryan that Colonel O’Neill is a pain in the ass, like he tells the other Colonel who is assigned to mine the planet for naquadah

Fun fact: Don S Davis served in the military before becoming an actor. That makes TWO real life veterans in this scene.

You know what's funny? General Ryan commented and said there really are Colonel's and Generals with the attitude and snarky comebacks just like O'Neill.

Can we just let the US Military own the rights to Stargate? Let them use it to recruit to the Space Force.

First time ever that Jack O'Neill was at a loss of words. Talking about putting one's foot in one's own mouth. Right at the time that one didn't realize that the United States Air Force Chief of Staff was in the same room. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The funny part is Richard Dean asked Genral Ryan what happen if a Col. acted that way what would happen. He told Richard that it wasn't uncommon and he didn't consider it disrepectful.

I always find it fun when a non professional actor steps into a role to do a cameo of themselves in a TV show or movie. Admittedly the roles are small, not particularly complex, and it's not like they need to express complicated emotions or lines, but it is fun to see an average non-pro person from professional life managing to act alongside professional actors and not standing out particularly. I think a lot of folks, if they weren't aware who Ryan was, might have thought he was just a fictional general in the USAF and this was an actor hired to play the role.

The personnel stationed at Beale AFB made a few Stargate references to us during our ROTC field trip. Not a single cadet in my group seemed to get it or recognize it. This franchise holds a special place in the good graces of the Air Force for 20 years of making it look good, and yet the newest crop of commissioned Air Force officers seem to have no idea what it is or appreciation for what it represents.

This scene makes me think that we actually do have a stargate program and SG-1 is our "Wormhole X-Treme!" to create plausible deniability.
