RIP Luis! One of the "father" figures on Sesame Street for sure. Part of my childhood and everyone of my generation. Enjoy and appreciate these legends (still with us) while they are still around, first we lost Mr. Delgado and more recently Bob McGrath.

My pastor use to sing with Richard and Joe so I carried messages back and forth , great bunch of guys . Sent Joe about losing my husband in 1997 and in 1998 l I sing my brother, he sent a nice email to me. God bless the oak ridge boys

This is a great in depth interview! I love his singing in Spanish near the end, at around 23 minutes. The characters Luis & Maria were married in episode 2485 in Season 19, which aired May 13, 1988, their courtship began in 1987 in Season 18.

I met him years ago at a boot store in Nashville. He is that humble, down to earth and kind in person. I recognized him immediately but didn't let on, thinking he deserved to shop anonymously with no one acting like a groupie. Before we left he was asking advice on boots for an upcoming appearance. Wonderful person.
