When planning a trip to Oz I thought “why do I want to see a big rock?”. When we got there though I found it quite fascinating. It certainly has a special feeling about it and I can quite see how the natives found it spiritual.

Yes, you're right. I've been there a few times and it's always fascinating. Maybe it is more than just a rock after all.

Kris Ter or Krister? You are Swedish right?
@KrisTer3815 ай бұрын
No, I'm actually from Germany. Krister is the name of a protagonist in one of my books, the Jack Schilt saga. Always liked that name.
@chrislind575 ай бұрын
I was wondering about that. The name is Swedish but I thought I could hear you speaking German but I was not real sure because too much background noise. Also Krister is actually my birth name but we came to Australia when I was very young and I changed my name to Christopher as I got older.@@KrisTer381

I lived in the hotel next to the bowls club for a few weeks while I was working at the mine on the Julia Creek side or town way back in the 1990s. Nice place, very friendly people and cold beer. The town is much bigger goes back a few streets away from the main highway.

Back in the 1990s. Wow! Surely a lot of things have changed since then. My first time in Australia was in 1994 when I rode my pushbike from Adelaide to Sydney. It's one of the best things I've ever done in my life.

@@KrisTer381 Surprising when I saw your video, apart from the BP service station that now looks modern, nothing else has changed!

@@raygale4198 Time really does seem to stand still in the outback. There's something very reassuring about that. Would love to get back there and see it all again...

This adventure, as you so aptly put it, happened 13 years ago. Yes, I did find what I was looking for, above all a feeling of all-encompassing freedom that I have never experienced again. Thank you so much for watching ❤
