Ah I totally get what you’re saying :/ it’s hard to be really into ag when the BRAND ITS SELF is not intriguing me at all, it was definitely so sad to see the Canadian stores slowly get pulled, I remember going into the store last summer expecting to see new dolls and accessories only to find out half the store had been filled with Barbie’s since everyone was so hyped for the Barbie movie and all. Omg, I didn't even realize that Kira's aunts were gay. I legitimately thought that she somehow got both sides of her families to live with her. I also have never owned Kira and am just going off of things I saw on their website and snippets of the book. Kids would've never noticed it and if they did, just don't make a big deal. The fact that the conservative moms are creating a mountain out of a mole hill and giving it such a negative connotation really breaks my heart. As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, we don't have an agenda for kids. We would just like people to know we exist and treat us with respect. That's all.

Hi Ally cat! I just wanna say I LOVE and want a truly me doll but they need more dolls with dyed hair like my hair is washed out but it’s teal in pink at the bottom. So they don’t have a truly me doll like that and it makes me sad that they don’t really have that :(

I spend a lot of time at my local American Girl store and notice that the majority of kids getting dolls are around 4-5 and are always picking out the colored hair dolls and rainbow outfits/pets. With the rise of kids on the internet (esp Tiktok), I feel the customer age demographic at AG is either toddlers or adults-and that more and more kids dont want to play with dolls but grow up as fast as possible

I'm not the biggest fan of their names. Nicki and Isabel, especially Isabel, were not very popular during the late 80s (Which is probably when the twins were born) In my opinion, American Girl should make a retro line and have stuff from the 80s like iconic TV shows and characters. I think American Girl was trying to cash in on the Y2K trend. I wish American Girl would have made Nicki and Isabel POC (A non-white Jewish dolls would be really awesome) just like I wish they would've done with Courtney.

I'm glad to see you're back!! I've also been in kind of an American Girl rut, one bc they are just getting too expensive and also I haven't been interested in any dolls they've been making lately. Idk how I feel about the collabs; on one hand I kind of like them but on the other, I wish they would just make more basic outfits like you said, or more original outfits some of which are geared more towards children, but others that are geared towards adult collectors and have a lot of variety.
