I watched this film about a week ago, great film but the ending really pi@£ed me off! The fact they did nothing to fight even after their child had been taken and allowed themselves to be killed! I hope the American version changes the ending! It's a good ending in the original but not satisfying! Like you said FIGHT for your child, your child comes first.
@MtcRead2 ай бұрын
It was an incredibly uncomfortable ride indeed... There is absolutely nothing satisfying about this film, except the fact that it was really good. Like a rollercoaster ride that is horrible, but when you get off you're still like; 'That's one of the better rollercoasters'.😅

11:42 You were right when saying "watching people get HANGED". You added a correctional blurb of * *hung* in the video, but that's actually not the proper way to say hang in the past tense when referring to that word in that context. Hanged is correct 👍
@LeviBulger2 ай бұрын
Ive been obsessed with Frankenstein (the novel) since i was a kid and this movie was amazing to me when it came out. But i remember it getting awful reviews and i just never understood why. I think it was done very well. BTW, your point about her being dared to write a horror story isn't exactly accurate. It wasn't anything about her being a woman and how they couldn't write anything scary. It was just a friendly competition between her, Mr Shelley, and Byron. Everyone who read it encouraged her to get it published and it actually wasn't even published under her own name for some time. Now after it had gotten popular it was hard for people to believe that she wrote it and not actually her husband,who already was a somewhat acclaimed writer/poet. But she eventually got her due praise and the book is now credited as being the first science fiction novel ever written.
@MtcRead2 ай бұрын
Thank you for clearing that up! I'm happy that in the end at least she was widely acclaimed for her novel.
@DavidEllis942 ай бұрын
To the "first science fiction novel" point, I have to object on behalf of the ancient author Lucian, whose satire of travelogues, "A True Story," tells of how his ship and crew were blown off course by a storm and carried on the wind to the Kingdom of the Moon, which at the time was embroiled in a war against the Kingdom of the Sun over the colonization of Venus. Later, his crew visits a land inhabited by dead, great thinkers and philosophers. Plato, however, was not there, as he was said to be living in an imaginary society of his own creation lmao

I wholeheartedly blame bjorn for leading his family into this whole debacle. I don't know if it's the praise he received from that psycho when they met or the steady shower of compliments but he is so willing to ignore all warning signs to keep that exhilaration going. Almost like a school boy being applauded by his "cooler" friend. His wife had good instincts and was against the visit from the start till he mentioned it at the dinner table and he convinced her with everyone present. I feel so sorry for the little babies 😢

I love how you guessed the plot twist of the movie early on. Yes, the survival instinct of Bjørn and Louise is akin to a deer stepping out of the bushes and careening straight towards a truck that's going 100mph. It's downright infuriating, but I guess there are people who act that way in those kinds of dire situations; their idea of self-preservation just shuts off completely. This is all the bunny doll's fault! 😆 Watch "Eden Lake" next, if you haven't.
@MtcRead4 ай бұрын
Oh god, yes, I've seen Eden Lake... I was kind of ready for some sort of violence with that one though, with Speak no Evil I had no idea how far they would go. It's going to stay with me for a long time... 😅
@illla3 ай бұрын
If you noticed those psychos were looking for such kind of people specifically and tested how far they can go with them. It all started at the swimming pool when that psycho asked to take the chair they used to put their closes but then he put his closes on the chair he took. It is not only Bjørn and Louise, there is a bunch of other people acted like them (you can see their photos in the shed).

@@seekforjannah2432 Excellent question. I was wondering that myself. I have some theories, but I'm not sure. Maybe the dogs tried to attack him and he flung them off. (Although it seemed like they were trying to flee more than attack.) Maybe he wanted to get rid of the dogs as guards? Or... maybe they just wanted the intro to be scary and mysterious, so they put in that scene. I wish I knew.🤔

I did hear that there was another ending where they showed that multiple families were doing this as part of some cult, but they decided against it. I also kind of like that they simply got away with it. There are some sick people out there and not all of them get their comeuppance. Personally I feel this adds to the horror.

My theory she is hallucinating everything that's going on around her except killing her husband ofcourse that 100% happened but during the scene where she's watching the commercial one of the side effects is hallucinations so over the course of the episode the more and more the cream she took the worse they got hen's the tv talking to her and the lady made of cream along with the rashes to where her skin was literally falling off and what she thought was better skin was her ripping her skin off which was why her husband was so concerned and by the end she completely lost it and after her bath the rash got so bad to the point now her skin was just falling off of her so basically for the ending scene she's gone batshit crazy and what actually happened she walked in with half her skin missing and everyone staring at her wasn't stares of surprise and amazement but stares of shock and terror
