A little alcohol on a q-tip. Alcohol dissolves anything sticky and usually does the job.

Alcohol with a high-alcohol content. 70 percent or more.

This is the first time I've seen this video. I know you posted this over a year ago, but I have to ask: did you try it on your ES-60W? I think that's what you're saying you have. It looks very similar to the one he's using and I'm going to try it when I have time.

It worked. What a great tip. Love my Epson scanner, plagued for a long time with dirty scans. Unfortunately I ordered the $11 cleaning kit before I saw this helpful tip. Do you know anyting about clogged drains? bw

Hi, I have the same machine, I follow the steps and light still does not work. Original light bulb is not even burned or damage. What other problem could it be? I checked all wire connections and everything look great. Can you please advise before me calling service company, Thanks.

Eric, awesome video! My scanner had somehow picked up some adhesive on the scanner bar, causing a vertical black line on all my scans. Thanks to your tip I'm back in business.
