in the UK especially Oxfordshire England UK health authority GPs do not like to give u a med which counter acts AGAINST serotonin overload! the financial incentive and bonuses from the pharmacutical corporations discourage the meds thst actually HELP and instead push the SSRIs despite the obvious facts they can cause this potentially fatal syndrome! my health especially my Neuro health is not to be "played" with at the "expence" of me POTENTIALLY losing my life judt bcoz "some doctor" is only intrested in makn money! not happening in afraid I'm too clued up! let's change/flip the SSRI narrative now and INSTEAD HELP me to avoid this issue!

Talk about scary. Quillivant and Dyanavel taste like pure candy. I get the man of 8oz Dyanavel currently, and use 6oz or less per month. Feel for anybody who starts to abuse these ultra expensive medications because without any impulse control, or addictive qualities, the ease of use is insane based on flavor alone. There’s a claim about XR meds being less desirable for abuse, but the two Tris formulations begin working in the body well before the hour mark.

Been on it 25 years. 15 mg . But… I want off. Heard it’s going to be hard very hard as KZfaqrs have mentioned. I bought a scale that will weigh out in 10 % A month increments for reducing. I originally went on it for. Depression. Absolutely no weight gain

Seems like he’s talking about secondary psychopathy - we don’t know how much environmental factors influence primary psychopathy- they have been shown to have brain abnormalities- it’s not clear from research how much the environment shapes primary psychopathy- so far they can’t put young children in a PET scan to look at what’s going on.

The idea that venlafaxine doesn't have any appreciable NET effect until high doses is not exactly true. The PET study linked below shows that (even at 75mg of venlafaxine) NET occupancy can be as high as 35%. This is comparable to duloxetine at 30mg (low doses for both drugs). A patient would notice a NET occupancy of 30%. In fact, venlafaxine has a higher incidence of raised blood pressure than does duloxetine (as some indication of norepinephrine effect). Some patients get hypertension on even low doses of venlafaxine. Also, the monoamine reuptake effects really have nothing to do with the antidepressant effect. Why is a NRI like desipramine an antidepressant while another NRI like atomoxetine NOT an antidepressant? Desipramine binds to TRK-B receptors and atomoxetine does not. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6441126/#:~:text=Daily%20doses%20of%20venlafaxine%20ER,MDD%20patients%20(Table%201).

There's so much anecdotal evidence out there that Mirtazapine at 30mg and above can be extremely stimulating and even cause insomnia, that I don't think we can honestly say "it's not less sedating at higher doses". Being on 30mg, for me, was a completely different experience to being on 15mg - the polar opposite in fact. And this seems to be incredibly common. Why there's no imperical evidence to support something that's such a common experience seems very strange. A similar issue is the common claim that Mirtazapine doesn't blunt emotions for many people like SSRIs and SNRIs are known to do. Again, the imperical evidence isn't there, but when you start talking to people about their experiences you'll find dulling of emotions is extremely prevailant with this drug. There are even videos on KZfaq of doctors claiming, that unlike SSRIs, the mechanism of Mirtazapine doesn't cause a loss of emotions and/or sex-drive. I personally think this is just theoretical and the research simply hasn't been done.

I take Guanfacine and Bupropion.my nurse suggested Mitrazapine for my insomnia at 7.5mg, now seeing that it is an a2 antagonist could it make Guanfacine less effective? I hope thats not the case because Guanfacine has been a life changer

I was on lexapro for a year and switched to Wellbutrin for my anxiety. I love it so much more and have rarely had to take my other meds for anxiety as needed. I really wish I started this one first but it wasn’t recommended for anxiety. I had zero side affects when switching meds which was shocking considering lexapro put me through the ringer during the first 4 wks.
