My man do not take me wrong but, when you have no clue about brakes you really shouldn't mess with them. You might hurt yourself or others if breaks are not done properly...

Cooles Video wiedermal!

That brake caliper was far from a new part. It will probably need new seals after a year or two. Order extra seals now so you won't have to wait later buy genuine Yamaha seals. Strip down your old caliper and get it soaking in brake cleaner in a closed container for a few months spraying it down weekly with more brake cleaner, after that cleaning it up should be easy.

Lead acid batteries just suck. Buy a cheap AGM battery as it will have a good shelf life.

You could short the two large poles of your starter relay, there may be a large startling spark and your starter may engage, but it will tell you if your battery is the problem or not. Have the rear wheel raised, or bike in neutral for this test, short with an old tool as the arc will damage the tool surface.

I've just replaced the brakes on my XJ as well, but luckily, my callipers and rotors were still in good shape, so I only needed to change the pads and the brake fluid. Ride safely! Peace.

I‘m also not a mechanic, only a hobby wrencher, but some observations: - Brake fluid is pretty aggressive. If you do this on a more precious bike, you should cover the surroundings with paper towels. And better wear nitril gloves. - Get a torque wrench. - Never separate new pads with a flathead, you can easily damage them. Better use a piece of plastic.

If the battery has been sitting around with no charge, the cells may have gone bad and it’s not holding the charge anymore. It sounds like the battery doesn’t have enough power to turn the starter over. It’s time for a new battery in my opinion. 💸 😎👍

..maybe jumper cables from the car to the bike? That might sort out the battery issue. AND, the Beilagscheiben on the brake line should be one top - one bottom. Sorry Bud, one more bleed.

I talked to a friend from germany and he told me that indeed almost nobody has air conditioning in their house. Why is that? In my country (romania) almost everyone has it, a full kit with installation is like 300-400 eur and can work for 20 years, especially in summer when it gets to 35-40c its unbearable, its amazing to have 23-24 dry air inside at all times... consumes very little electricity also, like 15-20 euro/month to keep it working non-stop, its the best luxury of life, i wonder why other europeans dont get it.

Here's five things I don't like about KZfaq motorcycle 'reviewers'. (5) They think their limited knowledge and experience is actually of interest to other people. (4) If they find a small issue about a motorcycle, they don't make simple modifications to suit their personal tastes. They just have a whinge on camera. (3) They don't have a sense of perspective, so they compare cheap bikes to expensive ones and don't consider that issue to be relevant. (2) They think they are good-looking and cool, but tight jeans on a slightly over-weight man is not a good look. And not cool. And finally Number One. (1) They peddle inaccuracies and misleading details about products to promote their money-making channels. Anyway, I have some cattle excrement to attend to; it can be a bit of a problem. Especially when it's on KZfaq. Take care, Love and peace.

I call this BS. You are talking about trail, and you are right, lightweight single cylinder are ones to use. Offroading is normally just a fraction of time you spend in modern countries. Adv bike is designed to cover distances with comfort, and that involves hours of cruising on highways and final few kilometers to reach places that cars can't. My comfort zone for touring with car ends below 3k rpm, while redline is at 7k and with motorcycle - below 5k, while redline is over 12k. That being said, I cannot imagine myself doing 3 hours of highway with 300cc dual sports pushing it to the limit just to keep up with the traffic. 1000cc-ish motor gives you comfort on the highway and electronic aids allows to use it on gravel. don't try to be smart. ADV bikes exists because of demand, not the other way around.

Better not to go to politics but thank you for trying to stay objective and fair. Reason why Germany blocked this deal to split Kosovo is because of fear that it can happen to Germany as well....Imagine that for example Turkish communities in Germany want to vote on referendum to break away from Germany and become new nation on some piece of land....There are officially 3 - 4 million Turks in Germany this is not small number if they would want they could do the same Albanians did in Kosovo legally, however i don't think it is likely yet....But in time their population will grow and native German population will be lower and then anything is possible...

I'm 75-years old. Ridden my wonderful Benelli TRK502 15,000 on and off road in New Zealand. Plenty powerful enough. With that great old "Triumph" twin sound. Cruise easily at 115kmh on the road. Bit heavy, but not too tall for us short old buggers The std Givi bags included are superb. A steal! No problems at all. Serviced by me. One of the best of the 29-motorcycles I have owned. And there is a long waiting list here for the 700cc version. The bike is always left out of comparison tests ~ big mistake!

4:04 I've reached the point where I'm mainly out to relax and have fun not so much struggle in some endurance test or pushing the limits of my abilities. I'd rather ride a nice dirt road through some trees that some knarly track I barely make it through. On the road, it's about seeing the places you want to see. For me, farm lands, smaller towns and maybe some mountain forest roads. No knee dragging, no wheelies, just chilling and enjoying the feeling and sound of the bike.

Totally agree with you. I only started touring since 2017 (on Versys 300x) and always wondered why people are on machines like the GS 1200 when the roads they are on they can never go faster then 3rd gear. The only advantage is here in the US if you have to do some highway travel. But guess what, I get to the same place and do the same roads those on the GS do, but I also saved myself $21K! LOL. Plus the 300x never ever breaks down like a KTM or BMW does. I tried a large bike this year on the Dempster Highway (Tiger 900), then got home and bought a CRF300L to try it again next year. LOL. I use my large bike for road trips not off-road.

I have traveled by car, motorcycle, train, and airplane. I like traveling by motorcycle because it's inexpensive, you feel more connected to the environment, and you make more stops, often sleeping and eating in small towns you would never know existed if you had flown directly to your destination or driven by car.

I think they should be marketed better for sure. They're normally great touring bikes with the ability to handle roads that are not made of asphalt better than other touring bikes. They're not really off road bikes especially the heavier ones.

Do you have critiques about adventure scooters for their functionality?
@FreeMilesMC
@FreeMilesMC 3 күн бұрын
I mean honestly they are pretty sick ofcourse a lot of the same things go for them as for adv motorcycles. But i feel like the people that buy them are not as delusional about there ability. When I worked in a motorcycle dealership a lot of people changed from there gs to a scooter for physical reasons and it’s pretty cool that they also exist in a bit of adventure dress up. And mostlikly they can go over a gravel road quite fine I doupt that the adv scooter crowd is going to take them on narly single tracks

I have a 1250 GSA adventure. The only time I go of road is when I drive 20 meters down my own drive way. I am 70 years old with a total hip replacement on the RHS. However It has tremendous carrying capacity that I use to do my shopping, which is 99% of its use. When I do go on long trips I can carry all of the shit that I want, for camping etc. It travels easily at highway speeds. I agree its far too heavy to do fire trails, is too heavy to pick up in some places. But I love riding it and will for as long as I can because time is running out. We make our choices. I ride for my own pleasure not to conform to what some one else thinks should be the image.
