Whilst the men removing their shirts felt unnecessary and didn’t really have that much humour added, when it should have (and would have been more sensible done during the break and incorporated into it, or immediately after it), it would have been really saddening if this stopped the song from qualifying. The staging was otherwise ace, particularly with the use of video mapping, moments of humour, and of course a 17 year old singing an excellent song perfectly, a song which adds little new but doesn’t let anyone down!

imo the good thing was that the main protagonist of the show was all the time Silia and the rest a sidedish where your attention did not go. An aspect which should all have. As lots of countries were trying to sell a staging instead of main artist

Makes me wonder if Eurovision has a growing issue with too big stages? They're so expensive for the host and participation fees, and it seems a huge empty stage doesn't always look so great on TV, it's harder and more expensive for delegations to fill up. Please Slovenia Raiven next :)

@@melissa9905 Im its about the approach. Look at France - camera, light, simple graphics, one person on stage. Spain on the other hand - evertything. Its about the vision. As you rly need just light, cameras and edits. You dont even need LED graphics.

mismatch of tone between song and staging: the song if fun, the staging is serious. it would be so much better if the vibe of the dancers was more like the vibe of the instrument players. they wanted to do sexy, that's fine, but it was the wrong tone of sexy. if it was more lighthearted it wouldn't be so stiff and uncomfortable to watch. this is why the shots of the fans were good- they were heaving fun and it matched the song better than the staging.

My winner would probably be Ireland. It’s the one that is improved the most due to camera cuts etc. when you watch Switzerland live it’s super impressive. When you watch Ireland live/unedited you see how much the genius of the camera direction made the whole performance.

Maybe I will surprise you, but I purposely took of editing from camera work, as good camera work can be killed by edit and vice versa, those are two different professions also

Your question :"Dont they want to show her?" Is answered by the staging. a lot of lights, far shots, audience shots etc. So that the poor singing , and the "smallness" of the music will not be so obvious. Taking into consideration the quality, they managed to mobilize the live audiance .On tv it didn't work

I am really really sorry to bring up politics again because I know that that is not at all what you want to focus on on your channel but I really wanted to say this as it did have a huge impact on me. I am israeli. I never watched or cared about Eurovision before in my life. But then 2 things changed that. First I saw the Europapa semi final performance and then the No rules semi final and suddenly I realized that Eurovision is actually pretty awesome and I got HOOKED!!!!! I absolutely loved it and for the entire month I was obsessed with Eurovision, only because these and so many other performances made me so HAPPY!!!! It was these Finnish guys that made me fall in love with Eurovision. But then I came across an interview where they boycott Israel and made a big issue about it about wanting Israel to withdraw and that the EBU should cancel israels performance. And that made me so depressed. Like what are these 2 Finnish guys who have such a happy and funny performance got to do with middle east politics??? I'm not saying that they should support Israel but why should they care so much about a topic they have no connection to, why not just say nothing at all and just perform on Eurovision without thinking you are some political embassador or something??!?!?!? It broke my heart and made me depressed.

@@krxsmyvc The fact that people who think they know what is happening and say its hypocritical is exactly my point. Russia INVADED Ukraine and used their broadcasting network for propaganda. Israel was invaded by the Gazan government which is a literal terrorist organization, and when fighting back to eliminate the terrorist group and its terrorists that purposefully hide behind civilians, people take the terrorists side and call Israel the invaders. Instead of criticizing H*m*s for using civilians as shields people blame Israel for fighting back. If Windows 95 man, Henri Piispanen and all the other "Pro Palestinian" propaganda pushers of Eurovision think they are changing the world by boycotting Israel from performing in a song contest, then that is so sad, just proof that these people have no cause and are desperately grasping for some way to be heroes. Just sing and do your performance, no need to be anybody's hero for goodness sake...
@JanBors

Russia was banned for a differenr reason ans this logic dont fir. As You say. Russia attacked Ukraine, Israel was attacked. Other thing is that Russia was using their EBU member channels as propaganda, lying with facts and clearly telling in those tv they will nuke other countries including other ebu members. This is not a case with Israel. Even if you wish. Get the facts right first. To the first comment. You know. Artists in Europe are affected by woke left ideologies, basically know no facts but having strong opinions. The issue is, the broadcasters and others dont tell them facts. Maybe they would say differently after

Interesting. I do agree about how good Sweden was but also Ukraine and Czechia because both used the LED boxes creatively Ukraine ahead because of the use of visual effects in perspective from initial shots on the level to the top up gshots showing the graphics on the boxes during the rap to the last moments on the floor with them lying among other women…or was that in another category?
@JanBors
@JanBors 18 күн бұрын
It's not all about boxes, but what sense it has in the bigger picture. I am explaining this in my masterclasses and if you watch them (both ukraine and czechia are for members only), you would understand why they weren't on the list. But to short it (even you should see it for context), less is more, if you combine so many style and colour pallet, using everything but it does not hold together, I dont even take is as a creative approach but the oppossite (this comes to Czechia), or too much various scenarious to distinguish has also some limit (ukraine). Sweden was coherent during the whole 3 minutes only developing and gradating the initial idea. So the rest on the list, just did it better.

As usual your remarks are on point. I' ts what i expect of eurovision and I liked it. But what was missing for me were close up of her face and facial expressions.(I couldnt remember what she looked like by the end of the finak. I saw the similiarity to Unicorn but its a very different song. Any way the great colouring and energy led Georgia finally to the final as they deserve. At the final there were simply better songs, so a better staging would not change much. Could you do an analysis of Austria, I really liked it and it crushed at the final?
@JanBors
@JanBors 18 күн бұрын
I will do it, but I will also reply to you as masterclass is more about technicalities... in Austria's case imo were 2-3 things why it did not work in the final. Very weak singing, cold staging (which was fine, but in combo it does not work), the song is a normal average dancing track. Nothing special. So all those 3 things.

This was also my perception issues but its far from truth. Kinda. As its hard to separate those kids from the other parts. But lets say there are also producers / writters and all in between whom write good music also for those. Its hard to distinguis this but imagine if you're a kid and someone writes music for you. Imo this is after all more understandable than constructed "eurovision" music for adults.

The google maps thing was the hugest problem for me, they completely felt irrelevant to the actual performance and the song and the outfits and the rest of the staging. I agree when I watched the German National Final I realised all the competing Kids had potential in the music industry If they were given a chance. So I took it upon myself once the Results were announced to follow each of the kids on Instagram so when they are ready to make their mark in the music Industry I will be able to Support them. I think Governments should fund part of the JESC and the Selection Process for JESC to help out these kids. Even though I only speak English (and Im Learning French) Im willing to listen to Music in any Language (Especially French Music because Im Learning French but I do like listening to Music in languages I don't understand) The only thing Im conflicted with myself about Junior Eurovision is Each song has to be at least partly (not sure of the Exact Percentage) in a native Language to the Country (for Example the song that Represents The Netherlands must be alteat partly in Dutch) The reason Im for it is it means Not Every Song is in English and it preserves National Languages and National Cultures but the reason Im against it is Because to me Part of the Art of Music is what language the song will be in. To me its like saying to a Painter your Painting must be at least partly Yellow. It doesn't make much sense to me but for the Junior Eurovision as a whole Im a fan and I want to support these kids that compete in Junior Eurovision (or even in the National Finals)
