Wow. With the highlights i picked up on sonething i never noticed before. I think its easier to pick up here with these highlights strung together. James is given free reign to travel by the officials. It may be akin to Shaq being allowed to throw elbows and commit offensive fowls. The league needs superstars but it went the opposite direction in Wilt's career. They felt he was so far above everyone else in the league in terms of skill & strength, the league changed rules and refereed not in his favor in order to level the playing field. And of course in the 90's, it was post Magic, Bird, Kareem, so the league needed to canonize MJ. Don't get me wrong with Lebron, though. He has mad skills and is the league's all time leading scorer. There's no reason he should be allowed to run 6-10 steps without dribbling on his drives to the basket.🎉

Watch the final 3-plus minutes of game 4 in the 86 finals in Houston to see just how important a role Bill Walton played on the team, giving the Chief time to get his wind back without a loss of talent under the basket. A healthy Walton helped to make an already great team into one that is in the argument of one of the greatest teams of all time. It was life changing for Bill, and he became the free spirit ambassador of the game who will be sadly missed.

Karl Malone was still very good and you have to believe he'd make an impact, had he been healthy.

There’s also the fact that Timmy played a good portion of his career (2000 on) with ONE GOOD KNEE. As soon as the second knee went out his last season, then that was that. And the last few abysmal seasons for the Spurs pretty much show how much Pop needed Tim. If Pop can’t at least build a playoff team with Wemby, then the whole Tim had Pop argument is officially bunk!

Frankly, spurs really dont know what could happen for the team if they would draft manu. Why??? How in the world why they didnt get him in the 1st rd???, yet they drafted an unknown Leon White, because they were more interested in a trade involving Dallas' Goran Girecek. I simply see that te spurs mngt were plain lucky they still got ginobili, and not because they respected his potential. What could have happened if another team drafted manu in the 2nd round

There is no case. The 85/86 Celtics would go Undefeated in Today's shit thing they call the NBA. I had Celtic season tickets. I was there. Jordan, the best marketed player ever was 0=6 vs Celtics in playoffs. Though this Celtics team would beat these teams, the 87/88 Lakers, and 82/83 Sixers would also go undefeated in today's shit NBA.😮

Every time I hear the argument that Wilt's ludicrous statistics were a product of his era, what we need to remember is Wilt never played with the 3 point line, and neither did Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. Except for MJ, it took 30 years for another player to reach their PPG with the 3 point line. Now guys like Doncic routinely surpass 27 PPG, and we act like those guys would be racking up the same numbers if there was no 3 point line. Without the 3 point line Doncic would have averaged 25 ppg instead of 33 for the 2024 season. Make no mistake, this is still hall of fame levels of good, but the claim that Wilt would struggle in today's NBA while modern all stars would thrive is the opposite of true.

That '78 team, before he was injured. One of the NBA best. A thing of beauty. Brother's and I saw in KC vs Kings just before I moved to Oregon. Score at halftime 76-41. I just remember Johnny Davis, alone, dunking, and Maurice Lucas knee socks.
