Great work! Amazon sells one you tied to the fork of the bike & handle bar. 100 times easier.. Also on front instead of putting back the reflector if you could put some type of a head light would be much better. Thanks for the video.

Pretty sure the reflector go underneath, and not up top.

Nice ! i had a schwinn cimmaron which is almost identical to this model . a super fun bike . no worries about crashing because it was soo cheap to fix these older bikes .

It isn't difficult. If you can make toast you can be a bicycle "tech". Just buy a few hand tools, if you don't already have them, and jump in.

I was looking for a rack that used cavalier mounting screws. I have a front fork that I'm not using the cavalier mounts at all...but i wanted to use panniers bags no not this rack...cool anyways...

I have this model and want to service the bottom bracket. Can you tell me which tool is used to remove it? Thank you. Good job on the restoration. Those roller cam brakes are a bit of a pain aren’t they? Cool design though.

Does anyone know what he sprayed onto the components to clean them? It doesn’t look like standard degreaser. Is it white vinegar?

Slide some heat shrink onto the silver strapping before attaching to help protect the bars or seat post. Looks better, too.

Those actually look pretty sweet. I tried looking them up but the color you have doesn’t show up; must be discontinued. 😢

I'm happy I found this video. Great rebuild. I just picked up the exact same year ('93) 830 in a 18" frame. Trying to build it up with some upgraded components but keep it stock looking. Awesome to see others enjoy bringing these old bicycles back to life.

This was very helpful but took me 2 hours. I think it would be easier it if you didn’t have fenders like I do. Plus I didn’t remove the wheel during installation like you did. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for making this. Topeak’s promo doesn’t show how to install. Yours thankfully does. I agree some rubber around the clamp will be necessary.

I did the same thing to a 80's Trek 560. Bike looks good with just one sprocket up front and no derailleur. Much cleaner and lighter. For handlebars, I tried half a dozen different ones, I settled on NITTO B483 Touring bars. They are GREAT!
