Isn’t using propane a bit dangerous? I remember reading about a guy who used a few metal pipes or something to make one and died as a result of it exploding, expelling shrapnel into the poor dudes neck. Died on the spot.

Gostei muito da ideia e da estética dessa alavanca! Eu só colocaria uma trava perto da polia dentada para que mesmo que um dos cabos se rompessem, o freio de uma das rodas ainda continuasse a funcionar.

Great video and great idea! The only thing I would do different as I would pressure wash it prior making the wash powder more effective and removing 100% of grease and grime

If you’re worried about not being able to get all the backer rod (sponge thingy) out of the cylinder, you can use an air hose fitting to screw it into the spark plug hole and apply 100psi air to hold the valves in place. I’ve done this multiple times when replacing valves springs on Chevy LS motors while it’s still in the truck. This was a great video, and I doubt you’ve put it on a dyno to see the power increase, but do you have any idea how much power increase you got, or how high you can rev the rpm’s?? I know the factory governor had it at 3600 rpm’s.

I have been wanting to replace my 302, from my 1992 f150 pickup, with my '57 292 T-Bird engine. Not sure if California smog laws will sllow it. At least now I know it can be done mechanicaly. I would like to put s modern fuel-injected truck engine in a late '60's Buick Electra 225. These are my two dreams! 🙂

The larger engines like the 3.8 and 4.2 had side draft Solex carburetors, not Weber. My parents had a sedan with the 3.8 engine and my brother has a 4.2 XKE and both have Solex carbs from the factory. They are significantly bigger than yours but that should be expected with the larger displacement. I wasn't aware that Jaguar or British Leyland made a 2.4 Liter engine. Very nice work. Hope you get to move out of California.

I found your channel from your transmission adapater videos which has given me the confidence to attack a project I thought would be really cool but wasn't sure if I had the tooling to do it. Then I saw the title and had to say, people on forums saying it can't be done is my greatest motivator. Couple years ago I decided I wanted to put an instrument cluster from a newer truck into mine and people on forums said they can't be adapted to work and function properly and I took that personally and learned so much about how the instrument clusters work from the process of adapting it to work that I now fix said instrument clusters for a living which was never my intention. But the satisfaction of being able to post a picture of the cluster working in my truck to those that said it's impossible is just too satisfying because I can be a very petty person like that.

electrolysis on an iron oily paint covered dirty old cast iron engine block is idiotic! good for nothing and adding or removing material on the dry spots, so what is the idea behind that but ignorance? you tried to plate a gunky diety old cast iron part🤯🤷♀️idiotic! who taught you this?
@SR-gs8zoАй бұрын
never do this! you ruin the seatings of bearings and the structure of the surfaces and the block ! engines should never be cleaned with detergentsm degreaser soaking or worse, electrolysis is not structural! and it does not clean but dissolve material! or add material! do you want spinge iron cake added on those surfaces that were not oily? washing soda! on aluminium! , this one is casted iron...completely insane! don,t do this....a bottle of kerosene and a brush, done in less than one hour! no water and no residues!

Suggestion if you ever look to improve the performance of the lights: I think it would have been a good idea to go fairly heavy with the gloss black, build up a bit, so you could sand out the orange peel. Even with brushing the mirror on, I think it would have lead to a much smoother interior finish, which I think would push more of the light out of the bucket, rather than scattering it inside. To further refine it, I would use an airbrush to spray in the mirror finish.... But, for the cost of the air brush set up and such, it honestly might have been worth it to get them re-chromed on the inside. Now, that out of the way? This is gorgeous. .I love the brass emblem detail you put into them, and the care and effort really shows. The cord wrapped wires are fuckin mint. There is only way to describe the work you have put into this car: skookum as all hell.

Why bother with opening the crank case and removing the governer? You can just connect a throttle cable directly to the butterfly valve on the carburetor.

Haha now I know how to plant my potatoes! Hey I watched your whole tank series and this video. Great stuff all the way thru. I wish I had your teachers. You really have great skills and always speak with useful technical knowhow. Your videos are the absolute opposite of artificial intelligence garbage time wasting videos on KZfaq and that is why I subscribed. I picture an octopus-like tube inside the combustion chamber that funnels the propane to several spouts inside so as to eliminate the blow tube.
