How do you remove the louver panel? Do you have to take the unit apart to access it from inside, or can you just pop it out from sides?

I have the same model. Recently mine started making a loud rattling noise, can it be because I need to fully clean the inside or switch out the compressor or fan belt?

this is our 3rd unit in 3 years. we buy refurbisbed which obviously doesnt pay off, we've never had this problem before...we are in florida...the past 3 nights, its beeping (that beeping has given me ptsd from our past units 😑) and the p1 error message shows in the window. 3 nights in a row we have drained an ungodly amount of water out of it. why is it filling up so much?!?! nothing about our environment has changed and our other units never did this, we barely had to drain them ever!!!

Great video. The movers loaded stuff on top of my unit and bent the top badly. The video helped pull out the panels. Thanks for pointing out the location of the clips. I unwarped the top and improved the functions.

Do you know if you ever have to change out the water in this type of unit?
@nathangelaonline2391
@nathangelaonline2391 Ай бұрын
I would definitely drain the water out of the connections in the back. there is an open drain pan inside that collects water if the unit is used to dehumidify and/or cool. a plastic hose should have been included that fits on the back connectors

I just followed the instruction to this a couple of days ago. I took the back off and the bottom coil is placed in such a way that it's almost impossible to get your hands in there to clean it, but I managed to wiggle my hand in between the copper tubing for the refrigerant or Freon or whatever and got the bulk of it off. I think it did a pretty good job, but now it's making some weird ticking noises and still periodically. The air will only come out of the right side. I bought a can of compressed air and I'll blow that in there every once in awhile. Then it'll start working properly but in my experience right now it's not a 100% fix. Even though I did clear out all of the dust and cat hair and crap off of there, but remember to clip those extra plastic pieces off, they are completely useless. They serve no purpose. They should have been clipped off at the factory when they came out of the extruder. They serve no purpose other than to impede your ability to clean the coils.

I need some help! I just bought an 8000 btu a/c Toshiba portable ac. It works but question is why does the air only come out on one side of top? I have regular metal vents on the right side the. A hard plastic piece on the other, I would think would metal open vents all the across. Am I stupid or something. It doesn’t look right to me. Can you help me, maybe I didn’t take some packing or something out. I don’t know

One of the first things I did was remove that stupid useless plastic barrier on both of my units which impede your ability to get in and properly wipe down the condenser coils. They serve zero purpose. I don't know why they leave them on there. I used to run a very large plastic extruder and these should be snapped off after they come out of the extruder. I have no idea why they're there and it doesn't hurt for them to be gone. They serve zero purpose other than to hold its shape during the cooling process after coming out of the extruder. I hope this helps because they're completely useless

Would you recommend using air compressor for the bottom fins? I just realized that it was sucking in all this nasty, moldy, and dusty air because it sat next to a nasty couch for the entire fall and winter. Now it blows out air that makes my skin itch.
@nathangelaonline2391
@nathangelaonline2391 2 ай бұрын
An air compressor might work. I would take care to not use too high a psi as that might damage the fins. I bought an adapter kit on ebay for $20 that has a small hose and extenders for hard to reach places. It hooks up to a shopvac and works well.
