Hey Natural, i just watched you natural hair growth journey and i can relate to it more than any other KZfaqr. I started my journey at 13 and ofc course i knew nothing. KZfaq videos on my feed was showing how to grow your hair in 3 weeks type of stuff so that definitely delayed my knowledge. I also started doing my hair myself and not letting anyone touch it. When i started i used to wash my hair with bar soap the ones to wash clothes 😂😂 honestly it worked well and made my hair super dry and at the time at had no conditioner. I bought my first shampoo and conditioner set at 14 from saving school lunch and i still remember how unreal my hair looked from conditioner it was so moisturized and cute. I started watching more and learning about hair porosity and things. I was happy to wash my hair every week in the braids that i put it on. I enjoyed taking care of my hair but couldn't document any progress because i had no phone and to this day i dont document progress because my phone's camera quality is depressing 😂😂. I honestly couldn't tell my hair was growing until one day my sister saw me doing my hair and was like heeeeeeyyyy your hair is loonngggg she was behaving crazily 😂😂 i love you sis anyways she ended up calling the whole house. for the first time i realized that my hair did grow im a little past mid back length ❤. Im 15 years today and im still obsessed with natural hair despite the little resources i have. Ill state all that i did. I used a scarf to wrap my hair at all times even during the day when im not wearing a hijab today i own a bonnet finally. I used shea butter as moisturizer after dunking my hair in water and scrunching out water today i own the spray bottle and still use shea butter. I use shampoo and conditioner each week i dont really settle on a brand ill just use whatever i have as long as it is shampoo and conditioner. Ive never deep conditioned im looking forward to doing that one day. I used to have a wide tooth comb that worked like magic omgg i only used it during conditioner time. Today i have the viral detangle brush because someone in my house stole my wide tooth comb. Ill still use a wide tooth comb whenever i set my hands on it. I left my braids for 3 months but there were times i left it for a month. I also used to do mini twist. To any young natural out there, please work with what you have currently. My parents weren't willing to buy me hair products so i saved up and everything i own today regarding hair apart from shea butter, i paid for. Im looking forward to being an African Rapunzel so can you ❤❤❤

Hey! I just wanted to tell you that Jesus Christ gave His life and resurrected to save you from your sins, and then resurrected so you can have life in Him. Jesus Christ is coming back sooner than you might expect, be ready and prepare to go with Him! Salvation prayer: Father I pray with my heart and believe in You Jesus Christ. I believe you died for me. I acknowledge that i'm a sinner, please forgive my sins. Wash me with Your precious blood. Come into my heart, save my soul today. Be my LORD and personal Saviour. I accept you today. In Jesus' name. Amen. Meditate on His Word (The Bible) to overcome challenges of this world until He comes! Jesus loves you! I don't know you but remember that God is with you! Romans 6:23> For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. 💕🫶🏾

I think it's a bit much to call them trash. Some of them give good advice. And some don't. It's the same with any community. You got to take the good with the bad.

I use to soak my hair in water everytime I moisturized but I realized it doesn’t work since I have low porosity 4a hair. I also noticed my hair would tangle a lot and I would get a lot of fairy knots when I used a lot of water almost everyday and let it shrink up. I have long mid back length hair. Now I’m using a water based spray and butter cream to moisturize my hair. I still follow the loc method with my water based rose water spray, olive oil, and butter cream. I also still wash my hair once a week since I work out a lot but I only use a lot of water on my hair on wash day. I also keep it stretched now with braids and scrunchies ( using the banding method ) and I love it. ❤

Deep conditioning is a big one. I used to deep conditioning over night or for hours but now I do it in the shower right after shampoo. I used to do SOOO much but when I simplified my routine wash days are a breeze now. Also, you can’t pay me enough money to wear someone else’s hair on my head. It’s even more insane how people pay as much as they pay. They see the value in a $700 wig and sit in the salon ALL DAY but would never put in the same work on their real hair? Make it make sense

To be honest. You are the first natural hair influencer that I have encountered that spoke nothing but the truth. When I started my natural hair journey I was a product junkie. Some worked and some cause breakage. I had to start over a few times.😢. But what I can definitely say I have learnt is LESS IS MORE. Not just with your hair but life in general. It’s the same thing with weight loss and skin care. Keep it simple. Just find what works and stick to that. And most importantly just be patient and trust the process. There will be ups and downs and sets backs . But if you stick to your routine we will all see results. You’ve gain a new sub. Keep doing what you doing. ❤❤❤

Tangles and breakage and shrinkage I don't think our woes are in our head. Most other races of people do not have to worry about their hair tangling and breaking off at the rate black women's hair does and the single strand knots that always have to be cut off. I feel like lying that there is no reason to have issues with our hair or that there is not issue is also dishonest. I don't use chemicals and haven't most of my life but I totally understand why people use wigs and weaves. If one can't braid which is a lot of people than outside of a puff ponytail or wash n gos which don't last. Plus people want length.

I see this video is old, so not sure you’ll respond. But, I’m wondering, when you’ve worn your hair in these braids, did you ever do vacation and get in the pool and/or beach water? And if so, how did they hold up and how did you maintain them?

I got MULTIPLE textures in my hair. Fux the hair typing system. EMBRACE YOUR NATURAL HAIR BLACK WOMEN. We are the most beautiful in our natural state. All those wigs and all that makeup , which clogs your pours, is hideous. Protect your hair without the fake braids , drink water, eat healthier and watch your hair flourish

I wonder if the water isn’t the problem, but what’s in it. I noticed my hair didn’t do well with the water in America, then I go to Germany and their water is drinkable from tap and better than most bottles water (I tested it). I noticed the tap water in Germany was better for my hair.

I started off with my hair long as hers in 2018 while I was a young girl. Once my mom stopped doing my hair in middle school bc I didn’t want dookie braids anymore my hair just got shorter and shorter especially when I started wearing weave. I tried dreads and lost so much hair because of that also. I know that I can get my hair back long eventually with the right determination and discipline/knowlege. Thank you for sharing your hair journey and tips. It help keeps my hopes up

I understand and want to cancel my appointment for tomorrow morning. I only get braided weave in for vacations, maybe a holiday once in a while. I’ve always been on that couldn’t where a wig, I tried to see myself in it and lately, I’ve been contemplating these braids. I love my natural hair and miss it when I feel like I have to keep a weave style in because it cost me an arm and a leg.🤦🏾‍♀️ Even though I asked the person if they wash the toxic chemicals out of the hair….I think it’s time to be true to my own convictions for good. Thank you ❤ bless you
