Toyota told me my compressor went out on my 2008 and shot metal shavings all through the system and everything needs replaced for like $4,000. Thanks for the video. FYI, when I was putting the carpet back in place, I realised that you can actually reach the outlet tube just by reaching over the left-hand corner when the carpet is in place...might be a bit more tricky to catch the liquid coming out but not impossible.

you might like to know it was reported on December 14, 2021, San Jose police arrested 15 people and recovered over 1000 Prius catalytic converters that were stolen by them. And the San Jose Police are figuring out how to get the catalytic converters back to the persons they were stolen from.. you might be able to get your back.. and perhaps you could sell it to get the money back you paid for the replacement?

When I placed my shield I put rivets between the three bolts into the frame where the plastic part sets and then I put the plastic part on to cover them up to surprise the thief not knowing that it's riveted underneath as well, I also used different size rivets and instead of breaking away the stems I would leave them in there and just bend them over that way they can't just drill them through because the stem is in the way of the rivet, I even placed dummy rivets all around that went to nothing just to make it look more difficult, I never thought of putting another shield up inside the engine compartment or in the back something to look forward to do later, thanks for the video

Sorry to see that you lost your cat to a worthless greedy no good SOB thief, I also have a 2007 Toyota Prius and I have installed a cat shield but about 6 months after my check engine light came on saying that my cat was not working properly so I changed both of the O2 sensors but still got a check engine light so I shopped around and called several different Toyota dealers in my area in San Diego county and to my amazement I found a brand new complete from bolts to end of pipe Toyota catalytic converter with muffler for about $1,800 brand new (no welding necessary), to use an old used catalytic converter is taking a big chance because you really don't know the life why not pay an extra $100 and get a new one, I was lucky that they did not ask for the core because I was able to sell my old no good Toyota catalytic converter for $1,900 legal, I guess the old catalytic converters have more precious metals than the new ones yet the new ones work just fine because I just did my smog and it passed without a problem here in California, best of luck thank you for the video

Thanks for the video. How did you transfer the hole pattern from the level 2 rear angle CAT bracket onto the main shield? The bracket sits on top of the shield and the holes are blind.

They had stolen a lot of Prius cathartic converters.. well have to call congress to have them look around by.. cus I believe is an organization.
