I can get one to the biscuit stage and i can peel thin flakes with a bopper but i seem to either not hit hard enough to run a long flake or hit too hard and make an overshot. And then theres times i do it right. I probably dont knap as much as much and obsessivley as i did when i first started. Nice job there on that one.

Your work while splitting flint is a world championship. I haven't seen this type of work before. If you believe Scientists, this is how "primitive" people built our civilization. However, the various structures rather confirm an advanced civilization. It's hard to say precisely. Congratulations and warm regards 💖👋😀.

What material is used at the end of your Bopper?
@KnightPappy2 ай бұрын
It's a copper cap with no lead in it.😊

I wish I'd found your earlier videos much sooner. I took the glue, lead, wooden handles etc. approach to boppers and then I find your videos. Simplicity! I couldn't ask for more. And your earlier videos on technique are excellent in conveying your knowledge, demonstrating the principles of knapping and quality videography. Well done sir and greetings from across the pond in Blighty

Does it have to be flint or can it be other stones? I have a massive amount of scrap pieces of flint chert obsidian
@user-ji9cq2uf4fАй бұрын
@@bracoop2 Flint/Chert is good, Obsidian no good, to fragile. I'm sure I could shoot out of your scrap pile the rest of my life haha. 3/4x7/8 is what my rifles use. You could probably do a good business with just your scrap pile.

Do heavy boppers and hammer stones offer better experiences?
@EDBO236 ай бұрын
Choose your bopper weight according to the weight of the rock you are trying to work. Big nodules require a 6 lb spalling hammer. Little Rocks need light weight boppers.

Mr Edbo, you Always produce great videos! I am curious about where you're from. Are you from Georgia or somewhere in the south? I am from S. Alabama ( Dothan ). My wife got really sick & wanted to move back to Missouri to be buried with her mom. She went to sleep in January 10th 2019. Now I'm back into flintknapping to pass my time. So I enjoy watching & learning from your videos. Thank you kindly for this video.

@EDBO23 I kinda figured you were somewhere in the south. People here in Missouri laugh then, they ask where are you from? I say, Dothan Alabama. Then they say no you're not. You're from Louisiana. I say, well, if you knew where I'm from, why did you ask where I was from? I think it's funny how people you've Never even met seem to know more about you than you do! That Really cracks me up! I'm learning from your experience with rocks. Thank you kindly Sir.
