Hi Julie, it could meant that your top tension is too tight, or there isn't any bottom tension. Just make sure you put the bobbin in correctly. If it's not in correctly, there won't be any tension

Hi Paul, for t-shirt you would use hot fusible stabilizer and iron it on the inside of the t-shirt where the design will be placed. I would the put wash away stabilizer on top. This minimizes the t-shirt being over stretched & prevents puckering. The hot fusible stabilizer and t-shirt will obviously go into the frame and the wash away would float on top.

Hi Abegail, the Brother machines are so great, it doesn't need to be oiled like other machines. Your machine needs to be serviced at least once a year by a reputable Brother dealer that does services & they should oil your machine when servicing it.

It's easier to slide it in underneath. There are cases where I would hoop it in, for example if it's iron on stabiliser, but most of the time I just slide it underneath. There are cases where it's best to hoop the stabiliser and float the material on-top of the hoop. This all depends on your fabric

Hi, you very rarely change the tension. What is wrong, what does your machine do , how long have you had it and how often do you use your machine? Have you recently changed your needle? Also, what thread are you using?

I have this machine for a year now and use it once weekly sometimes thrice a week and never had trouble before, I always use cotton threads.i guess the neighbor's kid messed with the settings and that's when all the trouble started. I had to stitch bed for my dog and the fabric was thick and was using needle number 14 and the thread was breaking, someone on KZfaq suggested to change the Needle to number 18, but that didn't change anything infact it worsen my situation and now anything I stitch the thread from bobbin lumps up and the top thread gets broken every time I try the back stitch.
