Pronouncing the words isn't the hard part, it's much more like how the English language works.

Picked the most annoying rarely bilingual country to do this unless they are cultural diverse. Euro/UK I mean even some asian countries more bilingual than USA unless it's Western Spanish. PS edit I am born an raised in USA and have lived in Texas/Florida/Cali/New York/Washington DC. Respect to other countries actually having their formative education push other languages because it sure as hell ain't here.

We hear these words BEFORE we see them spelled. When we think it's funny, we're not making fun of those attempting... We're making fun of English itself.

I cannot disagree with any of these "mis" pronunciations. Sorry, we didn't do it. English is an amalgam of ... whatever it was/is/ will be. Particularly, those gh words are from Dutch... What a mess.

I just found this video, as a french person, it was hard to listen to this. But in the same time, french is a difficult language, even for us and when we speak a foreign language like language, we are always ashamed of our accents, even if we want to tried the best.

When someone was shy to try 'successful' it was a good strategy to have a few others to try to not put them on the spot. I think the facilitator can try and be more encouraging to those who have given it a try on camera, not only when they succeed. You can tell when certain ppl are discouraged, so I would love to see them more reassured :), esp since they are already being brave ❤ But yea I think he didn't want to give away the answer. Anyway all the ppl who tried kudos to them. This is such a cute video!

Eg. Give them a pat on the back, or make eye contact with them when they feel shy, give them a reassuring smile instead of staring at the sheet along with them can go a long way, in addition to reassuring words

@chriswatson79654 ай бұрын
I hadn't realised that the spelling of choir and chair were so similar until this video. I'm not sure why everyone was pronouncing it with a 'sh' though, because choir is a French word spelled "chœur" in French and pronounced with a 'k'. In fact the spelling of the entire English word was made consistent with the French spelling for its pronunciation, so it should have been easy.
