Here's the story....Hybrid Theory are a group of guys who formed a band of original songs but like garage type of band, you know with few resources...then they decided things weren't working out the way they expected, they didn't have money to invest on their carreer, and Ivo, the lead singer ( Chester), had the idea of making a LP tribute concert to make money to invest on their craft, but the other guys said no, cause tributes only make sense if the band ends or someone dies...so they pulled aside the idea...this was just 2 months before Chester's death...then when he died, they went forward with the idea, and the plan was just making 3 concerts to make the money they needed in the first place !! But the feedback was so fucking good that they couldn't stop...this was 6 years ago, and Hybrid Theory right now is what we know...they've transformed into the best and biggest LP tribute bands !!!! Chester is proud !!! ❤

I first heard part. 3 in their excellent SiriusXM Liquid Metal "Metal Detector" Live Show, it caught my attention and once I heard this version I was obsessed. Like you I struggled with the first two parts, they are more complex to diggest, but I quickly learnt to love them just as much. Still the static noises refering to a spiritbox device is a little too prominent to my taste, but hey, can't be perfect. The Mara Effect was the introduction to Spiritbox on the first EP.. that's why it's so special to fans.. the chatter is a spiritbox.. definitely their most progressive song.. wish they would do more like this.. but anyways.. do you listen to Periphery?.. if not check them out!

You could probably use your reaction to this brilliant 4 part performance as a way to torture a confession out of people who didn't do it just so they could make listening to you complain stop.

It's always scary when a new Spiritbox appreciator dives into this song series and/or this performance because this is them at their most progressive which is NOT the stuff most newer listeners expect from them. But this is kind of how they started. Plus, the spirit box chatter in the background throws some off as it did you. Also, Courtney goes places with her vocals in this, especially part 2, that she almost never does anymore. For me, this is my favorite type of Spiritbox. And I will happily pay cash moneys for more songs like this.

This is definitely their most progressive songs and can be hard to listen to on a first try. I wasn't a huge fan of this until I heard it a few times myself Also, fun fact the "radio noises" was an actual spiritbox
