You say he's been writing about the same things, but a disease that took everything from him for a 10+ year period of his life (and still affecting him) is going to be something definitive in his life. He talks about multiple subjects in other songs: - Hi Ren (Battle of internal dialogue) Sick Boi (The medical industry) Money Game (Politics, Big Industry, Personal responsibility) Tale of Jenny and Screech (Circularity of domestic violence) Bittersweet Symphony (A commentary on modern Britain) Suicide (About the loss of his best friend) Halftime (A tribute to Nas) This song isn't just a re-hash - it's coming full circle - the whole story and the message of hope for those suffering.

Ren said to his ME/Chronic disease community (blogs/vlogs online) from years ago, that if he ever crawled out of this sickness and got a platform he would fight for them (the voiceless). He is doing what he promised. Also the Doctor that gave him the free $25,000 Stem Cell transfusion asked Ren to document his progress. So Ren just kept his promise there as well and is spreading the news. He did an in-depth story on it during his videos called "Chapter 1-8". He did them for the release of " Troubles". Thanks for the reaction and keeping it real, whether I agree or not.

This is the thing where I get what you were saying. Though if I may shed some light here, Ren has been battling his medical issues for the past 13 years and only within the last two years has been able to take on this level of Music Writing, Production, Directing, etc. So of course his main thrust for the past 2-3 years has been centric around his messaging. Keep in mind this man tons of music out there in many different genres, a lot of which isn't about his struggles. Some are retakes, some with his band "The Big Push", many with collabs with various other artists. "Troubles" is his entire story encapsulated in one track, which he had told in a spoken word series called "Missing", an eight chapter video series he dropped before "Troubles". Trust, Ren has a vast catalogue and cover many other topics.

I wouldnt be so worried about comments if i were you. They help you whether good ir not. Many of the songs Ren wrote were at the time he was going through his suffering from his illness and the aftermath and PTSD from that. Lyricists write about their experiences. Its unusual to have an artist that spent 8 years in torment without a day without pain watching his 20s go by. However, he does have other passions that he writes about. You just havent heard those yet. Ren has spoken about closing this chapter of his life and putting out music that reflects the present. For something different, check out his mirr recent Back in 74/Message in a Bottle retake which is more focused on his singing and playing, with a bit if hip hop in the middle

Some people don't like it when people repeat their experiences that they've gone through. But those people need to remember you are lucky you didn't go through the shit they went through. And start moaning about it. And they say I want something different. But Ren has the right to say the same story as long as he likes. Respect.

It feels jarring though for you to always bring up how honest you are and how the audience should understand this. I'd rather you just be honest and accept whatever comments you get from the audience without having to preempt what they're going to say and to also preemptively virtue signal about how especially honest you are

I dont feel the need to preempt for any virtue signal, Im just stating that Ive gotten a lot of comments saying how I shouldnt say this or say that and my experience with how those comments are taken I state it to emphasize in the moment how I dont edit and Im just speaking as I hear it. Most of the time I can be honest and people will respect it without me having to say anything about it. I bring it up in the videos because thats what pops in my head. There is a healthy trend in professionalism and also in art, that you should profess, refer and talk about the things you actually know about, that you have encountered first-hand, and that are currently affecting you, or have affected you, that you are dealing with. I am personally very glad, artists like Ren, Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, Knox Hill, Black Pegasus and more are on that track. Ren's life basically was illness and being told to go away for being a nuisance to the medical profession. Ren is actually healed from borelliosis/borelliose/Lyme disease. But suffering is far from over now: he is still suffering from what's called Post Lyme, and probably will for most if not all his life. His ailments are numerous, the effects of M.E. are still there (but no longer nearly every day, more like every 5th day or so), MCAS is still going strong, and there are a number of other autoimmunities still going, limiting his diet to "about 5 things" as he keeps saying. Bodily and mental "tick"s as described in his "Missing: Chapter 1" don't seem to want to go away either. You can see his leg muscles twitching whenever he tries to stand or sit still in his videos and interviews. In Ren's case, the doctor was successful. And he was in many cases. But wasn't in all cases. He got sued, and lost his assets in the U.S. (but was able to keep going in Germany, where Ren was able to run a second course of treatments, see Chapter 8 above).

I understand what you are trying to convey but I don't think Ren uses his illness in every song. His catalogue is pretty diverse/eclectic if we're being fair to him. I think what we do need to try and understand is that his condition and many other are treated as less important. Why is that ? If you've spent 7 years in bed I think he should be cut some slack. He now has the platform to raise awareness and maybe bring some change within the medical field Last thing. I know you're trying to funny but comparing Swifts boyfriend troubles to a guy that couldn't walk or go outside and even coming close to dying.........c'mon man

Im not comparing Swifts boyfriend troubles, Im comparing an artist writing about the same subject matter and yes, it was a joke either way and I understood in the moment how that could have come across..I am a casual listener as someone else put it and I do reactions to things most of the time I know nothing about. This artist is clearly doing the right thing if Im becoming more aware and if you notice I think about halfway if not sooner, I recognize and apologize if I was coming off insensitive in any way. I dont edit my videos and I think Im the most authentic in these moments where I change my mind or take comments as feedback. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and taking the time to watch the video. Im going to watch a few more to get a bit more clear on the subject matter. Thanks again!!

I have quite a few criticisms of the reaction community, especially in the last year, what's sad is, when someone like you, who I think should have way more subs, has to walk on eggshells through a reaction simply for keeping it real and being honest with your viewers, fearing people will be butt hurt. I hope you realize that's a compliment, there's so many reactors out there that never STFU about how "they keep it realz" yet very few that actually do. You can't be a die hard listener to every artist out there, there's just not enough time in the day, and to the casual Ren listener, there's no doubt he's got a lotta songs where he talks about his struggles with his mental and physical health. He says himself it's therapeutic for him and until it stops being so, he'll continue to make music like that, but he also stated that he understands if that's not everyone's cup of tea. I feel the same way about NF, he's got some bangers that I absolutely love, but if I'm being honest, his entire catalog, as a whole, is a little bit to dreary and sad for my taste, but I still respect him as an artist, and all his fans that find solace in that type of music. Ren released his whole illness story, in detail, via spoken word, he read it out loud, a chapter a day for 8 days leading up to dropping this track. I think it's something he's been wanted to do for a while to finally get some closure on all of it, and move on to other music, that's not to say he still won't occasionally still drop a track about it, but I think you'll see a little less now, of that subject matter. There's no need to react to them, not many reactors have, cause there's not much commentary to really add, but I would highly recommend checking them out, even if one doesn't like his music, it's a moving story. A brutal and tragic story, but also beautiful, full of perseverance and hope, definitely not for the faint of heart though, one things for sure, it'll make most peoples life struggles pale in comparison. All 8 of them are on his 2nd channel... www.youtube.com/@RenMakesStuff I think you'd really enjoy them. I know I've babbled enough, so I'll reply to my own comment and leave some songs Ren has put out that have nothing to do with his health issues, and are just bangers on their own. I've been a sub long enough that I think I can tell what kind of tracks tickle your fancy..lol. Take care, again great reaction, never apologize for keeping it real. ✌💚

Crucify Your Culture - A rockish rap song about the hypocrisy of big govt. Money Game 1-3 - It's a trilogy that does not need to go in order, all three songs stand on their own. MG1 is very theatrical, just Ren and acoustic guitar, verses are rapped, chorus is sung, with the message based on the worlds dependence and greed on money. MG2 - Is lyric video, but not really, there's very relevant imagery behind the lyrics, it's all rap, same chorus as the MG1, but with a produced beat and sound. MG3 - back to being very theatrical, but with piano and cellos this time, hard to explain, its more of a story of one man caught up in the money game, the cinematography is top notch though, I think him and his director actually won a few awards for it. Humble - This one might relate to his health issues a little but nothing specific, but it can relate to anything anybody is going through in any type of struggle. It features a female singer Eden Nash, the whole song has an Island/Calypso feel to it, Eden kills her two verses, and the whole song sounds like it should be number one on the radio charts, might not have enough rap to suite your normal taste, but it's a banger of a song. Back on 74 - He dropped this the week before his Nas retake, it's a mashup of an old 1970s song by the group Jungle, "Back on 74", and the Police song "Message In A Bottle". Complete with some doo-wop back up singers and a chill bass player slappin the hell outta the base, plus an interlude not in either of the originals where Ren does a little rappin, it's a fire track. Ok, I think those will tide ya over for now, if ya want some more, just hollar. ✌💚

When you started in that he is a one subject performer, i thought, Oh maaaan, the fans will eat him alive😂 Then i got a little wound up myself because blanket statements like "every song is the same" are irritating lol Newsflash, the album was called Sick Boi, yet even on that album, there were songs that were not about his illness. Even if it IS about his illness, he mixes up the beats every time. His illness covers more than 10 years of his 34 year old life. He was left feeling insane & alone & he wants to assure others aren't out there feeling that way. I think it's inspiring. (You were redeemed at the end btw, big time, lol) I respect your opinion, of course, but you should either explore his other works if you like him, or walk away.... if you feel he is redundant, your commentary will be redundant as well✌️

Well I appreciate the redemption, feedback, and well intended comments. lol I have and will be exploring some of his other works..and I do have a playlist that I put together of his as well. What Im not going to do is "walk away" as you suggested..Whether I like it or not is irrelevant. This is a reaction channel not a fan channel. Im not going to like everything I look at, nor am I going to like every piece even my favorite artist creates. I think people get stuck on that they know so much about their artist and no one can feel any other type of way..I have artists I follow that I can get this way as well. Last thing I'll say as an observation to your last comment..if an artist is putting out music that sounds redundant, and my reaction is redundant, maybe its becoming redundant? I recognize that may be insensitive again, and Im willing to take that as my own opinion and experience that anyone can take or leave. I hope I have not insulted or made you feel like Im not open to feedback. I am taking these comments nito my next video and will hopefully have more insight on the subject matter as well as other subjects he has written about that I may not have seen. I'd say you generally lack proper empathy. I'm speculating, but since you don't connect with the message, you have no experience in that realm. Mind you, I've also been relatively lucky with my health. Conversely, however, I empathize and admire what Ren's using his modest platform to do, which is work to bring change to a broken system. It's why i respect the hell out of him. Taylor Swift? There's no part of that name that belongs in the same sentence. If even a QUARTER of MOST of these famous people took on the things Ren did, the world just MAY be a brighter place. It's funny that I've never heard ganster rappers be asked to rap about something other than violence, or... i could go on. Nonetheless, these songs are the man's experiences, and his story. Most likely it lays in a place that makes people uncomfortable, consciously or sub. But these subjects are like shining a light on the shadows, and for a person like me who hasn't gone through it, the duty to listen. Important work in my view, and something to aspire toward. One's trying to change the world, others are simply trying to further pad their pockets. In that context I wouldn't care if he's rapping about paint drying over and over again. But that's just my 2 cents, anyway.

It's very weird that you are okay with artists singing about the same situations over and over again as long as those multiple moments were fleeting parts of their life, but can't handle somebody writing multiple things about the one thing that has been central to their life for nearly half their life. The way I see it, every good artist writes about what they experience and what they know about. And they pretty much all have one or two concepts they return to frequently. The fact that the girl's name changes doesn't change the story.

@@tre07reactions I did listen to the final thoughts. I was referring to the Taylor Swift part of the discussion where you basically gave her a pass for basically writing the same song over and over because each was about a different breakup. But the totality of those breakups pales in comparison to how much the illness has taken over Ren's life. I'm not even saying you are wrong for thinking the way you think. It just doesn't make sense to me because I see your example as a distinction without a difference. Two artists with many songs about one topic. Though I would argue that while Ren talks about some things repeatedly, the way he conveys them musically and lyrically are very different from each other, while Taylor's songs are much more rinse and repeat. That being said, most of what you have reacted to is either from or very related to his Sick Boi album, which was specifically about is illness and journey. His older music has some of it, but they come off different as many were from before he was even correctly diagnosed and thought he had completely different issues. Chalk Outlines, How to Be Me, Diazepam, Depression, Insomnia, Dear God, Hold On are examples of those songs (but completely different styles to Sick Boi). But then he has solo stuff that has entirely different messaging. Money Game series (1, 2 official lyric video, and 3), Love Music series (1,2,3,4), The Tales of Jenny and Screech (Official Music Video), Crucify Your Culture, or any of his busking with Sam Tompkins. He also was in two bands. Trick the Fox was before or just as he was getting sick. That was the band he was signed to Sony with. When he got too ill to fulfill the contract by the time it expired, they mutually agreed to end the contract. Later Sony allowed him to use the recorded tracks for his first album (Freckled Angels). The second band was The Big Push. They do a lot of covers and mashups and are all amazing artists. Their stuff also sounds completely different from most of Ren's other music.

Well it seems people are confusing the comparison..Im not comparing heartbreak to a disease..Im comparing someone writing about the same subject matter..I can see how that comes off insensitive and I clearly made it a joke and recognized in the moment how it sounded. If you took that comment to heart Im sorry. Taylor Swift also has songs about other things but if you ask any casual listener or someone who only has heard a few songs, they would probably have the same ignorant opinion.
