Anyone still watch this in 2024? Every couple of months, I find myself coming back to this video. @ransriggs, I hope life is treating you well.

Been coming back to this video for a decade plus. It’s my favourite video on KZfaq. I love rain, love the storytelling, and this introduced me to the mountain goats. Thanks RR.

Well done Ransriggs. Well done. Even after all these years, other vid makers could still learn a lot from you. Anybody that reads this, please remember and come back to this vid a couple times a year. It would be a shame if it were ever buried and lost.

what is the point of having a loop in peculiar children story . It does not protect them from hollow ,it is boring to live the same day over and over again without aging and growing stuck like that feels claustrophobic, normals don't pose a threat to them bigger than the weighs, feels like a big plan by the birds to keep the peculiars under their command and domination and make them feel that they can't live or survive without a bird. Are they really good? And what happened to the ballerina twins from the first book?

man, i wonder what this guy is doing nowadays... this is incredible. i moved around a lot as a kid, i wish i had been given the chance to lay down sound roots instead of being ripped away from everything i had come to know. it was constant, every few years. my dad served the country, and let me tell you... america sucks everything out of you until your soul is empty.

Beautiful twist. This is a microcosm of Americana. From desolate wilderness to government engineering experiment to private market capitalist boom to capitist bust to desolate wilderness. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, the way of all material things.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children sequels On September 30, 2016, Burton's adaptation of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was released, leading to speculation that the sequel novels (Hollow City and Library of Souls) would be adapted as well. However, due to the mediocre box office returns of Peculiar Children, talks of a sequel have been scrapped.

i had almost forgotten about this, and then i saw the unfortunate news that they’re trying to essentially renovate and “fix” the Salton Sea, and so many of these visually important symbols of the history there could be torn down. it seems so wrong.

I've been looking for this song. I've had this in my saved videos for years. The record that you show is a Blue Bird label B-11454-B and it's Vaugn Monroe's 'Honey Dear'. I've liked this video for years. But I still don't know what that song is. Now that I have a phonograph I would like to have it. What is the name of that song?

Rain is my favorite weather. You could enjoy it whatever your mood. When I'm sad and the tears don't come out, it feels like the rain does it for me and the stone in my throat goes away. When I'm angry, the sound distracts my thoughts and I can calm down. When I'm excited I get to play in the rain, and there are many waves at the beach and the water is warmer. And when I'm lazy, I have the perfect excuse to stay at home and sleep all day. Rainy days are also the best to nap during the day.

As a guy who lives in Slab City for the last 2 years plus, you made a wonderful short that captures a lot of my thoughts about this strangely beautiful apovalyptic hellscape. It has it all. Beautiful sunsets, trash heaps, artistic projects sprung from the beauty and tragedy stirred into one big emotionally powerful soup of what could, should or should not be. Nice work.
