Nice video and congrats on the successful climb. This is the second video where I’ve seen climbers carry a hand coil. It makes no sense. If you have pro you don’t want slack if you’re simul climbing. If you’re aren’t placing gear then why rope up?

So instead of leading back up with the blue to get the orange unstuck you just left the orange? If it was multiple rappels with a dubble rope then does it takes more time to lead back up for the other rope or to rap twice as much. You didn't even cut it and save some of it or went back the next day, you just left it there as booty for the next guy? Man I wish I wasn't a dirtbag who solos back up for my rope. 😂

Oh man I tried! I went back up with the blue to get the red unstuck but when I tried pulling the red it got stuck a second time on the way down. There is a lot not shown in the video. It is what it is!

Isnt going with rope just a disadvantage when not using it only when anchor is needed?

What month was this recorded? My guess July? The sun goes al way to Habkern (from augstmatthorn), and i've seen it go down West of harder Kulm in other video's, so that's a big leap :D

@@AndresVourakis Nice i'm going september this year :) Guess the sun will set on Habkern itself from augstmatthorn then. You went during evening wich obviously is best lighting, do you think during daylight the light is to agressive (causing washed out white video) ? Do you remember when the sun actually set? september says 8pm BUT those always are for horizon wich is blocked in Alps everywhere, i suspect it's more like 7pm (slightly later for you).

Beautiful video! What pieces of protection did you end up bringing/using? Is it worth carrying a full rack?
@AndresVourakis
@AndresVourakis Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Definitely not a full rack. I would say gray, green, purple, red and yellow from Black diamond should be more than enough (singles) and maybe some nuts. But it all depends on your level of comfort simul climbing.

I guess on the first go you messed up the feet sequence - you had left foot firm and stepped up w the right, which swung you open. Whereas the friend of yours held the right foot fixed lower, while stepping up w the left foot... What's the better beta? Great route, by the way and great effort! :)

I did Petit Flambeau in July of that same year. It was my very first mountaineering experience. It surprised me that the mountain is actually just a pile of rocks 😅

Wow, props to Bjartur for hauling you up like that. And I think you made the right decision by trying to ascend the rope. Ice climbing can be extremely exhausting. I remember I got exhausted so quickly, even though I had a wholesome breakfast and plenty of snacks in between. After an hour or two, I lost all of my energy and never really got it back. Love your video, the images are breathtaking and your editing is on point. And most of all, you had an unforgettable adventure. You got yourself a new subscriber 🙂

The Petit Flambeau is an underestimated little beauty! Nice video! I also really appreciate videos of routes where people turn around ... it's the most important mountaineering skill, the ability to turn around on time.
