Huge Crevasses, Icy Slopes, and White Out Conditions, the Breithorn was full of surprises. After spending a few weeks climbing in Chamonix, we decided to go to Zermatt a bit early and enjoy some skiing, but after learning about the Breithorn, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go on another high altitude adventure. Our original plan was to traverse from the East to the West, but the icy conditions forced us to start our traverse from the central Breithorn instead. Although the approach to the Central Summit (4,150 m) started very mellow, we couldn't avoid the icy conditions for too long and ended up placing ice screws along the way for some extra peace of mind. To make things even spicier, the conditions changed quite drastically and what started as a sunny morning turned into windy whiteout conditions. Nevertheless, we managed to make it to the ridge and traversing to the West Summit (4,164 m) was quite straightforward. This mountain kicked our ass, but we had so much fun! Oh and the approach to the "Valle d'Ayas Guides' hut" was much longer and trickier than we expected (I'll never forget those crevasses), so this turned into a real adventure very quickly.

Hi Andres! Cool Video, BUT when going up a steep uphill, face your feet both in the same direction, so instead of doing that walk with your feet pointing outwards, just go up sideways. this uses less energy and in case you slip, you dont fall on your back, so you can stop yourself immediately. At 7:00 you see how youre going uphill :) at 8:53 you're doing it right. Anyway, besides that minor "critique" congratulations on the Breithorn Summit!

I did the west summit as my first 4000 peak when I was half way up the same happened to me, very strong winds and a white out . But I had the summit all to myself 😁

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed. It was certainly not easy filming it due to the bad weather. I used the Gopro Hero 7 and One Plus 7 Pro phone for the talking head parts. For some of the b-roll I used my Fujifilm X-T20 with 16-24mm lense
