So rope is rope starts to be rope at 3 inches ( not sure if that's diameter or circumference ) and up, line is ~2.99 inches and less.. at least that's what I was told by the fellas at the boathouse.

This is not the original. A good knot is one that you can untir quickly.

The part starting at 16 .25 is just imposssible. Putting the core throught he first empty part of the cover is OK, but once you get to the point where the rope is íntact -full core and cover - at 17:09 no measure of force or coercion or milking more cover from the end will get it a full fid length as in 17:39. There must be another way of doing it.

The water actually lubricates the strands, preventing friction and heat building so quickly. Majority of multi stranded fiber rope fails due to friction actually damaging the fibers causing them to tear or even melt

Nicely done video! I was taught 3 1/2 fid lengths for the bury with one of those for the taper. Also, I always found Selma Fids so much easier to use for any 12 strand hollow braid work. I’ve always made my marks, made the first loop then made the second loop stretched and inverted it first. Then I use a piece of doubled over baling wire to pass through the first loop. Use a regular fid to stretch out my inverted loop and then place the two ends of the baling wire into the fid and push it through the inverted loop. As you pull it through, it emerges and untwists itself automatically. , then mark the length of your bury on the other rope and add 1 fid length, bury and pull out to taper then milk it back in as you did. I use this for stage and stunt work so I’m frequently splicing backstage i very little light. For me, this is just an easier sequence than trying to revert the twist with the other rope through it. Thanks again!

Where did you get the rope thats on your shoulder i want it
I am looking for a 2'' pulling rope either nylon or polyester with either a steel clamp or a hard splice (thimble) at one end for carabiner attachment. I cannot find it anywhere...i need it 50 ft in length. Do you guys have it?

Just a realization that made it a whole lot easier for me to follow the process: MARK-letter is on the cover. MARK-number is on the core.

I know it is personal preference but I like the look in the video. What is the recommended post spacing and how should each rope be.

I can do anything with "old fashioned" 3- or 4-strand rope. The braided topes puzzled med, and the videos explaining how-to made it worse. This is not, simple and to the point.
