Where can I get a transition butterfly? Can't find anywhere...

We got ours from amazon but it was 6 years ago now so unsure. The brand is Lamaze if that still helps. I know that school and early years resource companies sell similar things for children who struggle with transitions and communication so perhaps search for communication aids for children and this may help you find similar things 🙏

How long do you normally wait to proceed with adoption papers (in case they are liable)?
@Aimeevlog
@Aimeevlog 10 ай бұрын
@@condrousiotis1477 ahh thank you for expanding. I don't think that would be usual practice..from my perspective I would imagine once the 10 weeks have passed people are keen to gain legal status and reduce social team interactions to those that the family request as opposed to formal, regular check ins. Though I'm sure there would be cases when this would be appropriate to extend

At what stage can you change your mind? I imagine that can sometimes happen
@Aimeevlog
@Aimeevlog 10 ай бұрын
Change your mind in regards to no longer accepting a match do you mean? Realistically, any point until the adoption order is finalised if it's not right for you. Though hopefully someone wouldn't go to matching panel if they weren't sure.

Fascinating insight. Adoption is something we are looking into if things dont improve "naturally" but yet to engage any social services yet. Good to know how this process works thanks for sharing, we are a bit more clued up!

Birth mom here 35 years ago Jesus saved my daughter from abortion. The most difficult thing I have to live with and although she was adopted into a loving family she has dealt with grief and abandonment. I never regret giving my baby life despite the challenges. Thank you though for shout outs to us birth moms.

Thank you for this video. I have found it very helpful as I am considering foster to adopt as a single woman. Can I ask how long did it take for the adoption order to come through for your 2nd child? Time from bringing them home and having the adoption finalised? Thanks again for your videos - I find them great ❤

Bonjourno. Editting sucks. lol. We are like 6 months behind. Looks like an amazing trip. I was homeschooloed too. I have been travelling since I was 4 and I grew to love cultures and nature so much I became an anthropologist and park ranger. Your children will benefit so much from traveling with you. Subed to see more. If you like family travel, history, culture, nature and food, you might like our channel too. - Bear

Why do you think that somebody asking you why you want to adopt is negative? I'm sure your adoption agency would ask you that.
@Aimeevlog
@Aimeevlog Жыл бұрын
It was much more in the vein that it was asked, as in "why would somebody want to do that?"

I like what you just said, it is about identity. I was part of the baby grab era, in those days it was about saving embarrassment to childless couples. I reverted to my original surname many many years ago. If people I knew from school asked my why I changed my name, I just say I've always actually been David Fraser. It was actually my Gran that let it slip what my original name was. She was quite proud of being a Murray and she said that I might have a highlander name too. Didn't take much guessing after that

Who decides if the natural parents have access to their child, if it's been adopted out?
@DavidFraser007
@DavidFraser007 Жыл бұрын
Please remember that babies, human or otherwise can naturally recognise their actual mothers. You can train your adopted baby to call you Mum, but it's not a natural process. I was adopted for the 2nd time at 18 months old, the first time I was retreived by my Mother, how she achieved this was nothing short of amazing at the time. At 18 months I could already say my own name and I could recognise my own mother and call her Mum. This resulted in confusion, resentment and bullying and I was blamed for not fitting in. You will also be wiping the childs identity and giving them a new one without their consent. I think you are a nice lady and you want to adopt for all the best reasons, but many want to because they feel unfulfilled about their lives. All adopted children will want to know about their natural parents as they grow up, that is perfectly natural, please remember that is their personal space, take a step back and don't intrude.
@Aimeevlog
@Aimeevlog Жыл бұрын
Thank you David. I absolutely agree, it's not natural and i so wish that birth parents could have received the right kind of support to stop the need for this ultimate decision. I have huge respect and acknowledgement for birth parents, the wider family and will always include them in life story work with the children. Identity is so important and we have made a commitment to work at whatever we need to support our children and are still aware that things will not be easy for them. Wishing you all the best as well 🙏

@@Aimeevlog I'm sure your kids are settled and happy, that's the most important thing. I think you're lucky and your kids too. I had a tough time, I got slapped a lot, just for asking questions or looking the wrong way, I never knew what to expect when I got home from school. If it wasn't for my Gran, I would have packed my bags. But even back then everybody had a different experience, I had an army buddy in training and he was adopted and he wanted to speak to me about it. I realised I was speaking to a big toddler, he'd been wrapped in cotton wool by well meaning parents. I didn't respond the way he wanted and he never spoke to me again. I felt a bit bad and I spoke to my other mates about it, they said don't worry about it. We weren't sure what homesick meant, but maybe his family lived on a boat or something. (sorry , army humour)

We have been going through the process since april 21 and had several promises we would be in panel from june last year ...we are hoping to get to panel this month. The hold ups have been put down to lack of SW and the cost of living crisis inducing more financial checks 😑 it's very frustrating 😑

We took our girls to Majorca last year on their first ever holiday and it was wonderful. However their second trip abroad will be somewhat further because we're going to see family and friends in South America early next year. 2 flights each way, one of which is BA'S longest flight at around 15.5 hrs 😱. We can't wait! Our girls are a couple of years older than yours so they should remember the experience for a long time.

All adoption starts with loss. And this loss is ongoing for life. Adoption is a life sentence for adoptees. And adoptees never feel safe. You make incorrect assumptions about how birth parents holding a baby. I didn't let anyone hold my babies. You make too many assumptions and need to gain insights into both adoptee life and , as for grandparents changing nappies and feeding babies . Really ? This is not true . Absolutely not. You need educating, by both parents, real ones , and adult adoptees. Remember. All adoption is loss. Fir life

My younger sister who is 5 (I'm almost 18, we have a big age gap) has been having trouble with her emotions for a while, having outbursts a lot, and my mum is the type of person to always think that she's right and not listen to things like this. Instead she reacts with frustration and will get angry if my sister wont stop crying (she did this to me growing up and now I have anxiety and never go to her about emotions, so I know through experience that it does not work), so I'm hoping if I try to use this with my sister it will make her feel like she is supported emotionally by someone, even if she can't go to our mum. Thank you for the info :)
