The first time I saw this many years ago I was a little taken aback by racial component to the man's lyrics but when thinking of all the garbage he delt with in his life. I think he could have had hit much harder.

That bass sound is unbelievable- this is my first time seeing my video and that bass playing is unlike anything I've seen before. Absolutely crazy that Miroslav isn't renowned with the likes of Jaco or Ron Carter. Mad

It’s crazy to think that this masterpiece of a tune was one of the last ones’ that he composed while still having mobility. Makes you wonder what else his genius could create if he had another ten years.

I don't suppose there's a longer video of this magical moment of musical truth is there? Cuz there's no lies detected here.
This trio put on one of the best live performances of music I’ve ever witnessed in the early to mid 80’s around the time of their ECM double release that featured one album of Monk tunes and another with spontaneous improvisation.

Meat Beat Manifesto sampled the "Turn that microphone on!" back and forth to let their engineer know they were going to do a track with vocals when I saw them live in about 2005-ish
@ICTS227 ай бұрын
@@jasonlogan5622 Yes, you are right Meat Beat sampled Mingus. One of his bassline is in Meat Beat's video mashup "Drum Test" which is here on KZfaq. I'm pretty sure I saw one of other tracks/videos sample Turn that fucking mic on" but I can't remember exactly which track/video. Jack Dangers' beats are the best of the best; definitely I rate him top 5 beatmakers of all time.
