is the foam safe for play after it cools down
@HowTo-D2
@HowTo-D2 2 ай бұрын
It is not recommended to touch or handle the foam. This is because the hydrogen peroxide used in these experience is higher concentration than normal - and - some of the unreacted hydrogen peroxide could be present in the foam and surrounding areas. Hydrogen peroxide at this concentration can be an irritant and is not safe to touch without protective gloves. Please remember to follow all manufacturer safety labels and use precautions. Enjoy your experiments!

The refinish lasted pretty well for about 2.5 years. I just did another refinish to touch up recently. The calcium in our area is just so heavy. For areas with less calcium I would imagine the finish lasting a lot longer. Thanks for watching.

I have the same issue with my three tier fountain. Our water is terrible. Did the calcium build up come back? Is there a way to help prevent it from overrunning again?
@HowTo-D2
@HowTo-D2 4 ай бұрын
Hi there, yes unfortunately the calcium continues to build up. I occasionally take a Brillo / scouring pad to wipe away the build up. It's sort of my regular maintenance in between re-sealing periods. I will usually reseal once every couple years so long as I go out and do a wipe down once every couple weeks or so. Thanks for watching, and for the comment.

Did this turn white over time . I have a sealer that failed and surface turning white. Xylene helps to get rid of the white but it comes back . I am in the market for a new sealer and was wondering if this one holds up

Thanks for the video. I have a beautiful elephant head fountain that needs cleaning and repainting. The back of the fountain the that elephant head is mounted to is black and the elephant head is painted gold. I hope I get it looking at least half as good as the job you have done restoring yours. I am in no way a handyman. I live in Australia so will have to see what products I can get locally.

In my area the calcium is so heavy in the water that I did a touch up of the stain and sealer about a year and a half after this video. In the areas where the sealer had no calcium deposits it still looked fine.

They say you should use distilled or filtered water for fountains to avoid mineral buildups and to cut back on algae. I know it can be super time consuming to fill a fountain using a bucket & filtered water, or gallons of distilled water , but maybe you won't have to do this restoration thing again if you do? I imagine if you keep allowing the minerals to build up, over time you would lose whatever details your fountain has , as it would get almost impossible to sand it down enough. That's really cool though. I like that these paints say they won't peel or chip and that they look like natural stone. I wonder if I can get resin paints that look like limestone. I bought a small Resin fountain, and within days it was peeling... I almost returned it, (and I did buy another to replace it, but now I will prob keep both) but they want you to pay the shipping and a restocking fee, even though it was their fault due to a defective product. Thanks for showing this. It gives me hope that maybe I can restore mine, even though it isn't concrete. Maybe I can even make it look better than the mfg did.

Hi there, thank you! So for the dimensions of that fire put area, the raised platform you see in the corner is a 12ft x 14ft area. The fire pit itself I went a little larger than normal. Inside diameter is 40", and the outside dimension of the top (fire pit cap) is 57" diameter. Hope this helps. Good luck to you on your project and thanks for watching.

This video has motivated me to try & restore my fountain myself! I just moved into a townhouse & the fountain is beautiful but so dirty & worst of all the fountain can’t get any power for some reason after years of running but I’m planning on restoring it myself & planting succulents in it since I can’t use it as a fountain.
