Question; where did you buy that remote power switch?
@squareandlevel26 минут бұрын
a.co/d/ekBnCKX. There’s a link to the exact same one. There may be cheaper options that are similar or the same product sold under a different brand name.

For your first piece, INCREDIBLE! Really enjoy your work and with fans like Mike Holten and the Papa himself, your work hasn't gone unnoticed. Have a piece of mesquite set aside for the same project. Well done, my friend

Looks like English Walnut. I bought a lot of it as picture framing material but I far prefer Black Walnut. Both woods are not even really similar to each other.

I used a similar method to make a large bowl, 16” diameter, with Poplar and Padauk. It was fine until I Started putting on the oil finish, and the Padauk bled so bad into the Poplar that it liked like raw salmon. Learning experience. I bought some African Blackwood and tested it first for the bleed…..ended up pairing it with Purpleheart - turned out fantastic!

@@ThePapa1947I have not. I did watch the video and it looked very interesting. I’m still relatively new to woodturning and am having a blast with all of the possibilities. My son is colorblind too, red & green or just red. Can’t remember which. I know for sure he’s red, because I remember him thinking a red balloon was pink. I don’t remember him having trouble with any greens though. He picks his clothes out fine though. Plus, he’s artistic.

Nice work. I also saw this for the first time on @thepapa1947 channel and want to try it out but I need to get/make a jig to hold the parting tool. I just finished making a bunch of jigs to do my first segmented bowl so this will have to wait a bit. Hopefully my first effort can be as successful as yours!

Thank you! I’m actually making some new jigs at this very moment. This was the easiest thing I’ve made so far. Besides the tool rest it’s very straight forward. Definitely want to try out some different patterns in the future. Thanks for the comment. I hope you have a great day!

Nicely done piece. I also have used A. slow cast for a long time. Have always turned urethan and never epoxy. I do get some major chipping with slow cast if to aggressive with my larger diameter carbides! Enjoy your videos, stay safe.

I think it's a success! I love the colors and technique! I want to suggest POLKA_DOTS for a project! It would make a cool bowl, plate or vessel. You could use contrasting wood or epoxy for the dots. Only the most skilled artisans use polka dots and you will probably get a ba-zillion views!
